Matthew 11:1-11

NKJV 1 Now it came to pass, when Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples, that He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities. NIV 1 After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee. NKJV 2 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples NIV 2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples NKJV 3 and said to Him, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" NIV 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” NKJV 4 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: NIV 4 Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: NKJV 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. NIV 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosyare cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. NKJV 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me." NIV 6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” NKJV 7 As they departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? NIV 7 As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? NKJV 8 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed, those who wear soft clothing are in kings' houses. NIV 8 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear fine clothes are in kings’ palaces. NKJV 9 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. NIV 9 Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. NKJV 10 For this is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.' NIV 10 This is the one about whom it is written: “ ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ NKJV 11 "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. NIV 11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
