CSB 22 Immediately He made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowds. NIV 22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. CSB 23 After dismissing the crowds, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was there alone. NIV 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, CSB 24 But the boat was already over a mile from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. NIV 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. CSB 25 Around three in the morning, He came toward them walking on the sea. NIV 25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. CSB 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified. "It's a ghost!" they said, and cried out in fear. NIV 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. CSB 27 Immediately Jesus spoke to them. "Have courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." NIV 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” CSB 28 "Lord, if it's You," Peter answered Him, "command me to come to You on the water." NIV 28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” CSB 29 "Come!" He said. And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. NIV 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. CSB 30 But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid. And beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!" NIV 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” CSB 31 Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" NIV 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” CSB 32 When they got into the boat, the wind ceased. NIV 32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. CSB 33 Then those in the boat worshiped Him and said, "Truly You are the Son of God!" NIV 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” CSB 34 Once they crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. NIV 34 When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret. CSB 35 When the men of that place recognized Him, they alerted the whole vicinity and brought to Him all who were sick. NIV 35 And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him CSB 36 They were begging Him that they might only touch the tassel on His robe. And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. NIV 36 and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.
