The Complete Jewish Bible CJB
1 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
1
As Yeshua left the Temple and was going away, his talmidim came and called his attention to its buildings.
2 And Jesus said unto them,See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
2
But he answered them, "You see all these? Yes! I tell you, they will be totally destroyed -- not a single stone will be left standing!"
3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
3
When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the talmidim came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that you are coming, and that the `olam hazeh is ending?"
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them,Take heed that no man deceive you.
4
Yeshua replied: "Watch out! Don't let anyone fool you!
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
5
For many will come in my name, saying, `I am the Messiah!' and they will lead many astray.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
6
You will hear the noise of wars nearby and the news of wars far off; see to it that you don't become frightened. Such things must happen, but the end is yet to come.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
7
For peoples will fight each other, nations will fight each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various parts of the world;
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
8
all this is but the beginning of the `birth pains.'
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
9
At that time you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and put to death, and all peoples will hate you because of me.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
10
At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other,
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
11
many false prophets will appear and fool many people;
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
12
and many people's love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
13
But whoever holds out till the end will be delivered.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
14
And this Good News about the Kingdom will be announced throughout the whole world as a witness to all the Goyim. It is then that the end will come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
15
"So when you see the abomination that causes devastation spoken about through the prophet Dani'el standing in the Holy Place" (let the reader understand the allusion),
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
16
"that will be the time for those in Y'hudah to escape to the hills.
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
17
If someone is on the roof, he must not go down to gather his belongings from his house;
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
18
if someone is in the field, he must not turn back to get his coat.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
19
What a terrible time it will be for pregnant women and nursing mothers!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
20
Pray that you will not have to escape in winter or on Shabbat.
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
21
For there will be trouble then worse than there has ever been from the beginning of the world until now, and there will be nothing like it again!
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
22
Indeed, if the length of this time had not been limited, no one would survive; but for the sake of those who have been chosen, its length will be limited.
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
23
"At that time, if someone says to you, `Look! Here's the Messiah!' or, `There he is!' don't believe him.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
24
For there will appear false Messiahs and false prophets performing great miracles -- amazing things! -- so as to fool even the chosen, if pos sible.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
25
There! I have told you in advance!
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
26
So if people say to you, `Listen! He's out in the desert!' don't go; or, `Look! He's hidden away in a secret room!' don't believe it.
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
27
For when the Son of Man does come, it will be like lightning that flashes out of the east and fills the sky to the western horizon.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
28
Wherever there's a dead body, that's where you find the vultures.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
29
"But immediately following the trouble of those times, the sun will grow dark, the moon will stop shining, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in heaven will be shaken.
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
30
"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, all the tribes of the Land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with tremendous power and glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
31
He will send out his angels with a great shofar;m and they will gather together his chosen people from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
32
"Now let the fig tree teach you its lesson: when its branches begin to sprout and leaves appear, you know that summer is approaching.
33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
33
In the same way, when you see all these things, you are to know that the time is near, right at the door.
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
34
Yes! I tell you that this people will certainly not pass away before all these things happen.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
36
"But when that day and hour will come, no one knows -- not the angels in heaven, not the Son, only the Father.
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
37
For the Son of Man's coming will be just as it was in the days of Noach.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
38
Back then, before the Flood, people went on eating and drinking, taking wives and becoming wives, right up till the day Noach entered the ark;
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
39
and they didn't know what was happening until the Flood came and swept them all away. It will be just like that when the Son of Man comes.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
40
Then there will be two men in a field -- one will be taken and the other left behind.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41
There will be two women grinding flour at the mill -- one will be taken and the other left behind.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
42
So stay alert, because you don't know on what day your Lord will come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
43
But you do know this: had the owner of the house known when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
44
Therefore you too must always be ready, for the Son of Man will come when you are not expecting him.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
45
"Who is the faithful and sensible servant whose master puts him in charge of the household staff, to give them their food at the proper time?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
46
It will go well with that servant if he is found doing his job when his master comes.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
47
Yes, I tell you that he will put him in charge of all he owns.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
48
But if that servant is wicked and says to himself, `My master is taking his time';
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
49
and he starts beating up his fellow servants and spends his time eating and drinking with drunkards;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
50
then his master will come on a day the servant does not expect, at a time he doesn't know;
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51
and he will cut him in two and put him with the hypocrites, where people will wail and grind their teeth!
