King James Version KJV
The Complete Jewish Bible CJB
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
1
After Shabbat, as the next day was dawning, Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the grave.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
2
Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of ADONAI came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
3
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow.
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
4
The guards were so terrified at him that they trembled and became like dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
5
But the angel said to the women, "Don't be afraid. I know you are looking for Yeshua, who was executed on the stake.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
6
He is not here, because he has been raised -- just as he said! Come and look at the place where he lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
7
Then go quickly and tell the talmidim, `He has been raised from the dead, and now he is going to the Galil ahead of you. You will see him there.' Now I have told you."
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
8
So they left the tomb quickly, frightened yet filled with joy; and they ran to give the news to his talmidim.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying,All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
9
Suddenly Yeshua met them and said, "Shalom!" They came up and took hold of his feet as they fell down in front of him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them,Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
10
Then Yeshua said to them, "Don't be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to go to the Galil, and they will see me there."
11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
11
As they were going, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the head cohanim everything that had happened.
12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
12
Then they met with the elders; and after discussing the matter, they gave the soldiers a sizeable sum of money
13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
13
and said to them, "Tell people, `His talmidim came during the night and stole his body while we were sleeping.'
14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
14
If the governor hears of it, we will put things right with him and keep you from getting in trouble."
15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
15
The soldiers took the money and did as they were told, and this story has been spread about by Judeans till this very day.
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
16
So the eleven talmidim went to the hill in the Galil where Yeshua had told them to go.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
17
When they saw him, they prostrated themselves before him; but some hesitated.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
18
Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
19
Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh,
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
20
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age."
