1 Quejas de Miriam y Aarón<br />Mientras estaban en Hazerot, Miriam y Aarón criticaron a Moisés porque se había casado con una cusita.

Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.
2 Dijeron: «¿Ha hablado el Señor<br /> solamente por medio de Moisés? ¿Acaso no ha hablado también a través de nosotros?». Y el Señor<br /> los oyó.

“Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the LORD heard this.
3 (Ahora bien, Moisés era muy humilde, más que cualquier otra persona en la tierra).

(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
4 Así que, el Señor<br /> llamó de inmediato a Moisés, a Aarón y a Miriam y les dijo: «¡Vayan los tres al tabernáculo<br />!»; y los tres fueron allí.

At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out.
5 Entonces el Señor<br /> descendió en la columna de nube y se detuvo en la entrada del tabernáculo.<br /> «¡Aarón y Miriam!», llamó él. Ellos dieron un paso al frente

Then the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward,
6 y el Señor<br /> les habló: «Escuchen lo que voy a decir:<br />»Si hubiera profetas entre ustedes,<br />yo, el Señor<br />, me revelaría en visiones;<br />les hablaría en sueños.

he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.
7 Pero no con mi siervo Moisés.<br />De toda mi casa, él es en quien confío.

But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.
8 Yo le hablo a él cara a cara,<br />¡con claridad y no en acertijos!<br />Él ve al Señor<br /> como él es.<br />¿Entonces, por qué no tuvieron temor de<br />criticar a mi siervo Moisés?».

With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
9 El Señor<br /> estaba muy enojado con ellos y se fue.

The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them.
10 Cuando la nube dejo de estar encima del tabernáculo, allí estaba Miriam, con su piel tan blanca como la nieve, leprosa.<br /> Cuando Aarón vio lo que había pasado con ella,

When the cloud lifted from above the tent, Miriam’s skin was leprous —it became as white as snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease,
11 clamó a Moisés: «¡Oh, mi señor! ¡Por favor, no nos castigues por este pecado que tan neciamente cometimos!

and he said to Moses, “Please, my lord, I ask you not to hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.
12 No dejes que ella sea como un bebé que nace muerto y que ya está en descomposición».

Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother’s womb with its flesh half eaten away.”
13 Entonces Moisés clamó al Señor<br />:<br />—¡Oh Dios, te suplico que la sanes!

So Moses cried out to the LORD, “Please, God, heal her!”
14 Pero el Señor<br /> le dijo a Moisés:<br />—Si el padre de Miriam tan solo la escupiera en la cara, ¿no duraría su contaminación siete días? Por lo tanto, mantenla fuera del campamento durante siete días y después podrá ser aceptada de nuevo.

The LORD replied to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back.”
15 Así que Miriam permaneció fuera del campamento durante siete días, y el pueblo esperó hasta que la trajeron para continuar su viaje.

So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.
16 Fue entonces cuando salieron de Hazerot y acamparon en el desierto de Parán.

After that, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the Desert of Paran.
