Nehemiah 11:19-24

ASV 19 Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brethren, that kept watch at the gates, were a hundred seventy and two. NIV 19 The gatekeepers: Akkub, Talmon and their associates, who kept watch at the gates—172 men. ASV 20 And the residue of Israel, of the priests, the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance. NIV 20 The rest of the Israelites, with the priests and Levites, were in all the towns of Judah, each on their ancestral property. ASV 21 But the Nethinim dwelt in Ophel: and Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim. NIV 21 The temple servants lived on the hill of Ophel, and Ziha and Gishpa were in charge of them. ASV 22 The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mica, of the sons of Asaph, the singers, over the business of the house of God. NIV 22 The chief officer of the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Mika. Uzzi was one of Asaph’s descendants, who were the musicians responsible for the service of the house of God. ASV 23 For there was a commandment from the king concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as every day required. NIV 23 The musicians were under the king’s orders, which regulated their daily activity. ASV 24 And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people. NIV 24 Pethahiah son of Meshezabel, one of the descendants of Zerah son of Judah, was the king’s agent in all affairs relating to the people.
