1 On the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Israelites gathered together, fasting and wearing sackcloth and putting dust on their heads.
2 Yǐsèliè rén ( rén yuánwén zuò zhǒngleì ) jiù yǔ yīqiè waìbāngrén lí jué , zhàn zhzhe chéngrèn zìjǐ de zuìè hé lièzǔ de zuìniè .
2 Those of Israelite descent had separated themselves from all foreigners. They stood in their places and confessed their sins and the sins of their ancestors.
3 Nà rì de sì fēn ...zhīyī , zhàn zaì zìjǐ de dìfang , niàn Yēhéhuá tāmen shén de lǜfǎ shū , yòu sì fēn ...zhīyī rèn zuì , jìngbaì Yēhéhuá tāmende shén .
3 They stood where they were and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God for a quarter of the day, and spent another quarter in confession and in worshiping the LORD their God.
4 Yéshūyà , Bāní , Jiǎmiè , Shìbāní , Bùní , Shìlìbǐ, Bāní , Jīnání zhàn zaì Lìwèi rén de tái shang , dàshēng āi qiú Yēhéhuá tāmende shén .
4 Standing on the stairs of the Levites were Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani and Kenani. They cried out with loud voices to the LORD their God.
5 Lìwèi rén Yéshūyà , Jiǎmiè , Bāní , Hāshāní , Shìlìbǐ, Hédìyǎ , Shìbāní , Pítāxīyǎ shuō , nǐmen yào zhàn qǐlai chēngsòng Yēhéhuá nǐmen de shén , yǒng shì wú jìn . Yēhéhuá a , nǐ róngyào zhī míng shì yīngdāng chēngsòng de . chāo hū yīqiè chēngsòng hé zànmĕi .
5 And the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah—said: “Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting. ” “Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
6 Nǐ , wéidú nǐ shì Yēhéhuá . nǐ zào le tiān hé tiān shang de tiān , bìng tiān shang de wàn xiàng , dì hé dì shang de wànwù , hǎi hé hǎi zhōng suǒyǒude . zhè yīqiè dōu shì nǐ suǒ bǎo cún de . tiān jūn yĕ dōu jìngbaì nǐ .
6 You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.
7 Nǐ shì Yēhéhuá shén , céng jiǎnxuǎn Yàbólán , lǐng tā chū Jiālèdǐ de Wúĕr , gĕi tā gǎi míng jiào Yàbólāhǎn .
7 “You are the LORD God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham.
8 Nǐ jiàn tā zaì nǐ miànqián xīnli chéngshí , jiù yǔ tā lì yuē . yīngxǔ bǎ Jiānán rén , Hèrén , Yàmólìrén , Bǐlìxǐrén , Yēbùsīrén , Géjiāsārén zhī dì cìgĕi tāde hòuyì . qiĕ yìngyàn le nǐde huà , yīnwei nǐ shì gōngyì de .
8 You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous.
9 Nǐ céng kànjian wǒmen lièzǔ zaì Āijí suǒ shòu de kùnkǔ , chuí tīng tāmen zaì Hónghǎi bian de āi qiú .
9 “You saw the suffering of our ancestors in Egypt; you heard their cry at the Red Sea.
10 Jiù shīxíng shénjī qí shì zaì fǎlǎo , hé tā yīqiè chénpú , bìng tā guó zhōng de zhòng mín shēnshang . nǐ yĕ dé le míngsheng , zhēng rújīn rì yíyàng , yīnwei nǐ zhīdào tāmen xiàng wǒmen lièzǔ xíngshì kuángào .
10 You sent signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his officials and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly the Egyptians treated them. You made a name for yourself, which remains to this day.
11 Nǐ yòu zaì wǒmen lièzǔ miànqián bǎ hǎi fēnkāi , shǐ tāmen zaì hǎi zhōng xíng zǒu gān dì , jiāng zhuīgǎn tāmende rén pāo zaì shēn hǎi , rú shítou pāo zaì dà shuǐ zhōng .
11 You divided the sea before them, so that they passed through it on dry ground, but you hurled their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into mighty waters.
12 Bìngqiĕ báizhòu yòng yún zhù yǐndǎo tāmen , hēi yè yòng huǒ zhù zhàoliàng tāmen dāng xíng de lù .
12 By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.
13 Nǐ yĕ jiànglín zaì Xīnaì shān , cóng tiān shang yǔ tāmen shuōhuà , cìgĕi tāmen zhèngzhí de diǎnzhāng , zhēn shí de lǜfǎ , mĕihǎo de tiaólì yǔ jièmìng .
13 “You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.
14 Yòu shǐ tāmen zhīdào nǐde ānxī shèng rì , bìng jiè nǐ púrén Móxī chuán gĕi tāmen jièmìng , tiaólì , lǜfǎ .
14 You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses.
15 Cóng tiān shang cì xià liángshi chōng tāmende jī , cóng pánshí shǐ shuǐ liú chū jiĕ tāmende kĕ , yòu fēnfu tāmen jìn qù dé nǐ qǐshì yīngxǔ cìgĕi tāmende dì .
15 In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.
16 Dàn wǒmen de lièzǔ xíngshì kuángào , yìng zhe jǐngxiàng bù tīng cóng nǐde jièmìng .
16 “But they, our ancestors, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and they did not obey your commands.
17 Bù kĕn shùncóng , yĕ bù jìniàn nǐ zaì tāmen zhōngjiān suǒ xíng de qí shì , jìng yìng zhe jǐngxiàng , jū xīn bēi nì , zì lì shǒulǐng , yào huí tāmen wèi nú zhī dì . dàn nǐ shì lèyì raóshù rén , yǒu ēndiǎn , yǒu liánmǐn , bù qīngyì fānù , yǒu fēngshèng cíaì de shén , bìng bù diūqì tāmen .
17 They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,
18 Tāmen suīrán zhù le yī zhǐ niúdú , bǐcǐ shuō , zhè shì lǐng nǐ chū Āijí de shén . yīn ér dàdà rĕ dòng nǐde nùqì .
18 even when they cast for themselves an image of a calf and said, ‘This is your god, who brought you up out of Egypt,’ or when they committed awful blasphemies.
19 Nǐ háishì dà shī liánmǐn , zaì kuàngyĕ bù diūqì tāmen . báizhòu , yún zhù bù líkāi tāmen , réng yǐndǎo tāmen xíng lù . hēi yè , huǒ zhù yĕ bù líkāi tāmen , réng zhàoliàng tāmen dāng xíng de lù .
19 “Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the wilderness. By day the pillar of cloud did not fail to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take.
20 Nǐ yĕ cì xià nǐ liángshàn de líng jiàoxun tāmen , wèi cháng bù cì mǎnǎ shǐ tāmen húkǒu , bìng cì shuǐ jiĕ tāmende kĕ .
20 You gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst.
21 Zaì kuàngyĕ sì shí nián , nǐ yǎng yù tāmen , tāmen jiù yī wú suǒ quē . yīfu méiyǒu chuān pò , jiǎo yĕ méiyǒu zhǒng .
21 For forty years you sustained them in the wilderness; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.
22 Bìngqiĕ nǐ jiāng liè guó zhī dì zhào fēn cìgĕi tāmen , tāmen jiù dé le Xīhóng zhī dì , Xīshíbĕn wáng zhī dì , hé Bāshān wáng Ě zhī dì .
22 “You gave them kingdoms and nations, allotting to them even the remotest frontiers. They took over the country of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan.
23 Nǐ yĕ shǐ tāmende zǐsūn duō rú tiān shang de xīng , daì tāmen dào nǐ suǒ yīngxǔ tāmen lièzǔ jìnrù dé wèi yè zhī dì .
23 You made their children as numerous as the stars in the sky, and you brought them into the land that you told their parents to enter and possess.
24 Zhèyàng , tāmen jìn qù dé le nà dì , nǐ zaì tāmen miànqián zhìfú nà dì de jūmín , jiù shì Jiānán rén . jiāng Jiānán rén hé qí jūnwáng , bìng nà dì de jūmín , dōu jiāo zaì tāmen shǒu lǐ , ràng tāmen rènyì ér dāi .
24 Their children went in and took possession of the land. You subdued before them the Canaanites, who lived in the land; you gave the Canaanites into their hands, along with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with them as they pleased.
25 Tāmen dé le jiāngù de chéngyì , féimĕi de dì tǔ , chōngmǎn gèyàng mĕi wù de fángwū , zuò chéng de shuǐjǐng , pútaóyuán , gǎnlǎn yuán , bìng xǔduō guǒ mù shù . tāmen jiù chī ér dé bǎo , shēntǐ féi pàng , yīn nǐde dà ēn , xīn zhōng kuaìlè .
25 They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness.
26 Ránér , tāmen bù shùncóng , jìng beìpàn nǐ , jiāng nǐde lǜfǎ diū zaì bēi hòu , shāhaì nà quàn tāmen guī xiàng nǐde zhòng xiānzhī , dàdà rĕ dòng nǐde nùqì .
26 “But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they turned their backs on your law. They killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies.
27 Suǒyǐ nǐ jiāng tāmen jiāo zaì dírén de shǒu zhōng , mó nán tāmen . tāmen zāo nán de shíhou āi qiú nǐ , nǐ jiù cóng tiān shang chuí tīng , zhào nǐde dà liánmǐn cìgĕi tāmen zhĕngjiù zhĕ , jiù tāmen tuōlí dírén de shǒu .
27 So you delivered them into the hands of their enemies, who oppressed them. But when they were oppressed they cried out to you. From heaven you heard them, and in your great compassion you gave them deliverers, who rescued them from the hand of their enemies.
28 Dàn tāmen dé píngān zhī hòu , yòu zaì nǐ miànqián xíng è , suǒyǐ nǐ diūqì tāmen zaì chóudí de shǒu zhōng , shǐ chóudí xiá zhì tāmen . ránér tāmen zhuǎn huí āi qiú nǐ , nǐ réng cōng tiān shang chuí tīng , lǚcì zhào nǐde liánmǐn zhĕngjiù tāmen .
28 “But as soon as they were at rest, they again did what was evil in your sight. Then you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies so that they ruled over them. And when they cried out to you again, you heard from heaven, and in your compassion you delivered them time after time.
29 Yòu jǐngjiè tāmen , yào shǐ tāmen guī fù nǐde lǜfǎ . tāmen què xíngshì kuángào , bù tīng cóng nǐde jièmìng , gānfàn nǐde diǎnzhāng ( rén ruò zūnxíng jiù bì yīncǐ huó zhe ) , niǔ zhuǎn jiān tóu , yìng zhe jǐngxiàng , bù kĕn tīng cóng .
29 “You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said, ‘The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff-necked and refused to listen.
30 Dàn nǐ duō nián kuānróng tāmen , yòu yòng nǐde líng jiè zhòng xiānzhī quànjiè tāmen , tāmen réng bù tīng cóng , suǒyǐ nǐ jiāng tāmen jiāo zaì liè guó zhī mín de shǒu zhōng .
30 For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.
31 Ránér nǐ dà fā liánmǐn , bù quán rán mièjué tāmen , yĕ bú diūqì tāmen . yīnwei nǐ shì yǒu ēndiǎn , yǒu liánmǐn de shén .
31 But in your great mercy you did not put an end to them or abandon them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
32 Wǒmen de shén a , nǐ shì zhì dà , zhì néng , zhì kĕ wèi , shǒu yuē shī cíaì de shén . wǒmen de jūnwáng , shǒulǐng , jìsī , xiānzhī , lièzǔ , hé nǐde zhòng mín . cóng Yàshù liè wáng de shíhou zhídào jīnrì suǒ zāoyù de kǔnàn , xiànzaì qiú nǐ búyào yǐwéi xiǎo .
32 “Now therefore, our God, the great God, mighty and awesome, who keeps his covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem trifling in your eyes—the hardship that has come on us, on our kings and leaders, on our priests and prophets, on our ancestors and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today.
33 Zaì yīqiè líndào wǒmen de shì shang , nǐ què shì gōngyì de . yīn nǐ suǒ xíng de shì chéngshí , wǒmen suǒ zuò de shì xiéè .
33 In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly.
34 Wǒmen de jūnwáng , shǒulǐng , jìsī , lièzǔ dōu bù zūnshǒu nǐde lǜfǎ . bù tīng cóng nǐde jièmìng hé nǐ jǐngjiè tāmende huà .
34 Our kings, our leaders, our priests and our ancestors did not follow your law; they did not pay attention to your commands or the statutes you warned them to keep.
35 Tāmen zaì bĕn guó lǐ zhān nǐ dà ēn de shíhou , zaì nǐ suǒ cìgĕi tāmen zhè guǎngdà féimĕi zhī dì shang bú shìfèng nǐ , yĕ bù zhuǎn lí tāmende è xíng .
35 Even while they were in their kingdom, enjoying your great goodness to them in the spacious and fertile land you gave them, they did not serve you or turn from their evil ways.
36 Wǒmen xiànjīn zuò le núpú . zhìyú nǐ suǒ cìgĕi wǒmen lièzǔ xiǎngshòu qí shang de tǔchǎn , bìng mĕi wù zhī dì , kàn nǎ , wǒmen zaì zhè dì shang zuò le núpú .
36 “But see, we are slaves today, slaves in the land you gave our ancestors so they could eat its fruit and the other good things it produces.
37 Zhè dì xǔduō chūchǎn guī le liè wáng , jiù shì nǐ yīn wǒmen de zuì suǒ paì xiá zhì wǒmen de . tāmen rènyì xiá zhì wǒmen de shēntǐ hé shēngchù , wǒmen zāo le dà nán .
37 Because of our sins, its abundant harvest goes to the kings you have placed over us. They rule over our bodies and our cattle as they please. We are in great distress.
38 Yīn zhè yīqiè de shì , wǒmen lì quèshí de yuē , xiĕ zaì cè shang . wǒmen de shǒulǐng , Lìwèi rén , hé jìsī dōu qiā le míng .
38 “In view of all this, we are making a binding agreement, putting it in writing, and our leaders, our Levites and our priests are affixing their seals to it.”
