TYN 1 And the Lorde spake vnto Moses sayenge: NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, TYN 2 speake vnto the childern of Israel and take of them for euery pryncypall housse a rod of their princes ouer the housses of their fathers: euen .xij. roddes and wryte euery mans name apon his rod. NIV 2 “Speak to the Israelites and get twelve staffs from them, one from the leader of each of their ancestral tribes. Write the name of each man on his staff. TYN 3 And wryte Aarons name apon the staffe of Leui: for euery heedman ouer the housses of their fathers shall haue a rod. NIV 3 On the staff of Levi write Aaron’s name, for there must be one staff for the head of each ancestral tribe. TYN 4 And put the in the tabernacle of witnesse where I wyll mete you. NIV 4 Place them in the tent of meeting in front of the ark of the covenant law, where I meet with you. TYN 5 And his rod whom I chose shall blossome: So I wyll make cease from me the grudgynges of the childern of Israel which they grudge agenst you. NIV 5 The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid myself of this constant grumbling against you by the Israelites.” TYN 6 And Moses spake vnto the childern off Israel and all the prynces gaue him for euery prynce ouer their fathers housses a rod: euen .xij. roddes and the rod of Aaron was amonge the rodes. NIV 6 So Moses spoke to the Israelites, and their leaders gave him twelve staffs, one for the leader of each of their ancestral tribes, and Aaron’s staff was among them. TYN 7 And Moses put ye roddes before the Lorde in the tabernacle of witnesse. NIV 7 Moses placed the staffs before the LORD in the tent of the covenant law. TYN 8 And on the morowe Moses went in to the tabernacle: and beholde the rod of Aaron of the housse of Leui was budded and bare blosomes and almondes. NIV 8 The next day Moses entered the tent and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed and produced almonds. TYN 9 And Moses broughte out all the staues from before the Lorde vnto all the childern of Israel and thei loked apon them and toke euery man his staffe. NIV 9 Then Moses brought out all the staffs from the LORD’s presence to all the Israelites. They looked at them, and each of the leaders took his own staff. TYN 10 And the Lorde sayed vnto Moses: brynge Aarons rod agayne before the witnesse to be kepte for a token vnto the childern of rebellyon that their murmurynges maye ceasse fro me that they dye not. NIV 10 The LORD said to Moses, “Put back Aaron’s staff in front of the ark of the covenant law, to be kept as a sign to the rebellious. This will put an end to their grumbling against me, so that they will not die.” TYN 11 And Moses dyd as the Lorde commaunded him. NIV 11 Moses did just as the LORD commanded him. TYN 12 And the childern of Israel spake vnto Moses sayenge: beholde we are destroyed and all come to nought: NIV 12 The Israelites said to Moses, “We will die! We are lost, we are all lost! TYN 13 for whosoeuer cometh nye the dwellynge of the Lord dyeth. Shall we vtterly consume awaye? NIV 13 Anyone who even comes near the tabernacle of the LORD will die. Are we all going to die?”
