Philippians 1:17-27

KJV 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. NIV 17 The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. KJV 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. NIV 18 But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, KJV 19 For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, NIV 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. KJV 20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. NIV 20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. KJV 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. NIV 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. KJV 22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. NIV 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! KJV 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: NIV 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; KJV 24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. NIV 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. KJV 25 And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; NIV 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, KJV 26 That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again. NIV 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me. KJV 27 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; NIV 27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
