Philippians 2:6-16

NRSA 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, NIV 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; NRSA 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form, NIV 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. NRSA 8 he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death— even death on a cross. NIV 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! NRSA 9 Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, NIV 9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, NRSA 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, NIV 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, NRSA 11 and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. NIV 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. NRSA 12 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence, but much more now in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; NIV 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, NRSA 13 for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. NIV 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. NRSA 14 Do all things without murmuring and arguing, NIV 14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, NRSA 15 so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world. NIV 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky NRSA 16 It is by your holding fast to the word of life that I can boast on the day of Christ that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. NIV 16 as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
