1 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,

Hijo mío, si haces tuyas mis palabrasy atesoras mis mandamientos;
2 turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—

si tu oído inclinas hacia la sabiduríay de corazón te entregas a la inteligencia;
3 indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,

si llamas a la inteligenciay pides discernimiento;
4 and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,

si la buscas como a la plata,como a un tesoro escondido,
5 then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.

entonces comprenderás el temor del SEÑORy hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.
6 For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Porque el SEÑOR da la sabiduría;conocimiento y ciencia brotan de sus labios.
7 He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,

Él reserva su ayuda para la gente íntegray protege a los de conducta intachable.
8 for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Él cuida el sendero de los justosy protege el camino de sus fieles.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.

Entonces comprenderás la justicia y el derecho,la equidad y todo buen camino;
10 For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.

la sabiduría vendrá a tu corazón,y el conocimiento te endulzará la vida.
11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

La discreción te cuidará,la inteligencia te protegerá.
12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,

La sabiduría te librará del camino de los malvados,de los que profieren palabras perversas,
13 who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways,
13
de los que se apartan del camino rectopara andar por sendas tenebrosas,
14 who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
14
de los que se complacen en hacer lo maloy festejan la perversidad,
15 whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

de los que andan por caminos torcidosy por sendas extraviadas;
16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words,

te librará de la mujer ajena,de la extraña de palabras seductoras
17 who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.

que, olvidándose de su pacto con Dios,abandona al compañero de su juventud.
18 Surely her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead.

Ciertamente su casa conduce a la muerte;sus sendas llevan al reino de las sombras.
19 None who go to her return or attain the paths of life.

El que se enreda con ella no vuelve jamás,ni alcanza los senderos de la vida.
20 Thus you will walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.

Así andarás por el camino de los buenosy seguirás la senda de los justos.
21 For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it;
21
Pues los íntegros, los perfectos,habitarán la tierra y permanecerán en ella.
22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

Pero los malvados, los impíos,serán desarraigados y expulsados de la tierra.
