1 Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?

¿Acaso no está llamando la sabiduría?¿No está elevando su voz la inteligencia?
2 At the highest point along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;

Toma su puesto en las alturas,a la vera del camino y en las encrucijadas.
3 beside the gate leading into the city, at the entrance, she cries aloud:

Junto a las puertas que dan a la ciudad,a la entrada misma, grita a voz en cuello:
4 “To you, O people, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.

«A ustedes los hombres, los estoy llamando;dirijo mi voz a toda la humanidad.
5 You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.

Ustedes los inexpertos, ¡adquieran prudencia!Ustedes los necios, ¡obtengan discernimiento!
6 Listen, for I have trustworthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.

Escúchenme, que diré cosas importantes;mis labios hablarán lo correcto.
7 My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.

Mi boca expresará la verdad,pues mis labios detestan la mentira.
8 All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.

Las palabras de mi boca son todas justas;no hay en ellas maldad ni doblez.
9 To the discerning all of them are right; they are upright to those who have found knowledge.

Son claras para los entendidos,e irreprochables para los sabios.
10 Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold,

Opten por mi instrucción, no por la plata;por el conocimiento, no por el oro refinado.
11 for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Vale más la sabiduría que las piedras preciosas,y ni lo más deseable se le compara.
12 “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion.

»Yo, la sabiduría, convivo con la prudenciay poseo conocimiento y discreción.
13 To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.

Quien teme al SEÑOR aborrece lo malo;yo aborrezco el orgullo y la arrogancia,la mala conducta y el lenguaje perverso.
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight, I have power.

Míos son el consejo y el buen juicio;míos son el entendimiento y el poder.
15 By me kings reign and rulers issue decrees that are just;

Por mí reinan los reyesy promulgan leyes justas los gobernantes.
16 by me princes govern, and nobles—all who rule on earth.

Por mí gobiernan los príncipesy todos los nobles que rigen la tierra.
17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

A los que me aman, les correspondo;a los que me buscan, me doy a conocer.
18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.

Conmigo están las riquezas y la honra,la prosperidad y los bienes duraderos.
19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.

Mi fruto es mejor que el oro fino;mi cosecha sobrepasa a la plata refinada.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,

Voy por el camino de la rectitud,por los senderos de la justicia,
21 bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me and making their treasuries full.

enriqueciendo a los que me amany acrecentando sus tesoros.
22 “The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works,before his deeds of old;

»El SEÑOR me dio la vida como primicia de sus obras,mucho antes de sus obras de antaño.
23 I was formed long ages ago, at the very beginning, when the world came to be.

Fui establecida desde la eternidad,desde antes que existiera el mundo.
24 When there were no watery depths, I was given birth, when there were no springs overflowing with water;

No existían los grandes mares cuando yo nací;no había entonces manantiales de abundantes aguas.
25 before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth,

Nací antes que fueran formadas las colinas,antes que se cimentaran las montañas,
26 before he made the world or its fields or any of the dust of the earth.

antes que él creara la tierra y sus paisajesy el polvo primordial con que hizo el mundo.
27 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,

Cuando Dios cimentó la bóveda celestey trazó el horizonte sobre las aguas,allí estaba yo presente.
28 when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,

Cuando estableció las nubes en los cielosy reforzó las fuentes del mar profundo;
29 when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.

cuando señaló los límites del mar,para que las aguas obedecieran su mandato;cuando plantó los fundamentos de la tierra,
30 Then I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence,

allí estaba yo, afirmando su obra.Día tras día me llenaba yo de alegría,siempre disfrutaba de estar en su presencia;
31 rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind.

me regocijaba en el mundo que él creó;¡en el género humano me deleitaba!
32 “Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways.

»Y ahora, hijos míos, escúchenme:dichosos los que van por mis caminos.
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it.

Atiendan a mi instrucción, y sean sabios;no la descuiden.
34 Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway.

Dichosos los que me escuchany a mis puertas están atentos cada día,esperando a la entrada de mi casa.
35 For those who find me find life and receive favor from the LORD.
35
En verdad, quien me encuentra, halla la viday recibe el favor del SEÑOR.
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.”

Quien me rechaza, se perjudica a sí mismo;quien me aborrece, ama la muerte».
