Psalm 109:3-13

NLT 3 They surround me with hateful words and fight against me for no reason. NIV 3 With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause. NLT 4 I love them, but they try to destroy me with accusations even as I am praying for them! NIV 4 In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer. NLT 5 They repay evil for good, and hatred for my love. NIV 5 They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship. NLT 6 They say, “Get an evil person to turn against him. Send an accuser to bring him to trial. NIV 6 Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy; let an accuser stand at his right hand. NLT 7 When his case comes up for judgment, let him be pronounced guilty. Count his prayers as sins. NIV 7 When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayers condemn him. NLT 8 Let his years be few; let someone else take his position. NIV 8 May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership. NLT 9 May his children become fatherless, and his wife a widow. NIV 9 May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. NLT 10 May his children wander as beggars and be driven from their ruined homes. NIV 10 May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. NLT 11 May creditors seize his entire estate, and strangers take all he has earned. NIV 11 May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor. NLT 12 Let no one be kind to him; let no one pity his fatherless children. NIV 12 May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children. NLT 13 May all his offspring die. May his family name be blotted out in the next generation. NIV 13 May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation.
