Psalm 20

CEB 1 I pray that the LORD answers you whenever you are in trouble. Let the name of Jacob's God protect you. NRS 1 The Lord answer you in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob protect you! CEB 2 Let God send help to you from the sanctuary and support you from Zion. NRS 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary, and give you support from Zion. CEB 3 Let God recall your many grain offerings; let him savor your entirely burned offerings. Selah NRS 3 May he remember all your offerings, and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices. (Selah) CEB 4 Let God grant what is in your heart and fulfill all your plans. NRS 4 May he grant you your heart's desire, and fulfill all your plans. CEB 5 Then we will rejoice that you've been helped. We will fly our flags in the name of our God. Let the LORD fulfill all your requests! NRS 5 May we shout for joy over your victory, and in the name of our God set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. CEB 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed one; God answers his anointed one from his heavenly sanctuary, answering with mighty acts of salvation achieved by his strong hand. NRS 6 Now I know that the Lord will help his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with mighty victories by his right hand. CEB 7 Some people trust in chariots, others in horses; but we praise the LORD's name. NRS 7 Some take pride in chariots, and some in horses, but our pride is in the name of the Lord our God. CEB 8 They will collapse and fall, but we will stand up straight and strong. NRS 8 They will collapse and fall, but we shall rise and stand upright. CEB 9 LORD, save the king! Let him answer us when we cry out! NRS 9 Give victory to the king, O Lord; answer us when we call.
