Psalm 51:8-18

NLT 8 Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. NIV 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. NLT 9 Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. NIV 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. NLT 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. NIV 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. NLT 11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. NIV 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. NLT 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. NIV 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. NLT 13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. NIV 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. NLT 14 Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. NIV 14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. NLT 15 Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. NIV 15 Open my lips, Lord, and my mouth will declare your praise. NLT 16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. You do not want a burnt offering. NIV 16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. NLT 17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. NIV 17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise. NLT 18 Look with favor on Zion and help her; rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. NIV 18 May it please you to prosper Zion, to build up the walls of Jerusalem.
