Psalm 110

CEB

MSG

1 What the LORD says to my master: "Sit right beside me until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet!"
1 The word of God to my Lord: "Sit alongside me here on my throne until I make your enemies a stool for your feet."
2 May the LORD make your mighty scepter reach far from Zion! Rule over your enemies!
2 You were forged a strong scepter by God of Zion; now rule, though surrounded by enemies!
3 Your people stand ready on your day of battle. "In holy grandeur, from the dawn's womb, fight! Your youthful strength is like the dew itself."
3 Your people will freely join you, resplendent in holy armor on the great day of your conquest, Join you at the fresh break of day, join you with all the vigor of youth.
4 The LORD has sworn a solemn pledge and won't change his mind: "You are a priest forever in line with Melchizedek."
4 God gave his word and he won't take it back: you're the permanent priest, the Melchizedek priest.
5 My master, by your strong hand, God has crushed kings on his day of wrath.
5 The Lord stands true at your side, crushing kings in his terrible wrath,
6 God brings the nations to justice, piling the dead bodies, crushing heads throughout the earth.
6 Bringing judgment on the nations, handing out convictions wholesale, crushing opposition across the wide earth.
7 God drinks from a stream along the way, then holds his head up high.
7 The King-Maker put his King on the throne; the True King rules with head held high!
