Psalm 120

NKJV

HNV

1 A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried to the Lord, And He heard me.
1 <<A Ma`alot Song.>> In my distress, I cried to the LORD. He answered me.
2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips And from a deceitful tongue.
2 Deliver my soul, LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you, Or what shall be done to you, You false tongue?
3 What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, You deceitful tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the warrior, With coals of the broom tree!
4 Sharp arrows of the mighty, With coals of juniper.
5 Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
5 Woe is me, that I live in Meshekh, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace.
6 My soul has had her dwelling too long With him who hates shalom.
7 I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war.
7 I am for shalom, But when I speak, they are for war.
