1 Those who trust in God are like Zion Mountain: Nothing can move it, a rock-solid mountain you can always depend on.

<<A Song of Ascents.>> Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, Which can't be moved, but remains forever.
2 Mountains encircle Jerusalem, and God encircles his people - always has and always will.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, So Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forth and forevermore.
3 The fist of the wicked will never violate What is due the righteous, provoking wrongful violence.

For the scepter of wickedness won't remain over the allotment of the righteous; So that the righteous won't put forth their hands to iniquity.
4 Be good to your good people, God, to those whose hearts are right!

Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good, To those who are upright in their hearts.
5 God will round up the backsliders, corral them with the incorrigibles. Peace over Israel!

But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.
