New Century Version NCV
English Standard Version ESV
1 I cry out to the Lord; I pray to the Lord for mercy.
1
With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.
2 I pour out my problems to him; I tell him my troubles.
2
I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.
3 When I am afraid, you, Lord, know the way out. In the path where I walk, a trap is hidden for me.
3
When my spirit faints within me, you know my way! In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.
4 Look around me and see. No one cares about me. I have no place of safety; no one cares if I live.
4
Look to the right and see: there is none who takes notice of me; no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.
5 Lord, I cry out to you. I say, "You are my protection. You are all I want in this life."
5
I cry to you, O Lord; I say, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. ”
6 Listen to my cry, because I am helpless. Save me from those who are chasing me, because they are too strong for me.
6
Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low! Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me!
7 Free me from my prison, and then I will praise your name. Then good people will surround me, because you have taken care of me. A psalm of David.
7
Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to your name! The righteous will surround me, for you will deal bountifully with me.
