Psalm 28

MSG

WEB

1 Don't turn a deaf ear when I call you, God. If all I get from you is deafening silence, I'd be better off in the Black Hole.
1 <<By David.>> To you, Yahweh, I call. My rock, don't be deaf to me; Lest, if you are silent to me, I would become like those who go down into the pit.
2 I'm letting you know what I need, calling out for help And lifting my arms toward your inner sanctum.
2 Hear the voice of my petitions, when I cry to you, When I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place.
3 Don't shove me into the same jail cell with those crooks, With those who are full-time employees of evil.
3 Don't draw me away with the wicked, With the workers of iniquity who speak peace with their neighbors, But mischief is in their hearts.
4 They talk a good line of "peace," then moonlight for the Devil. Pay them back for what they've done, for how bad they've been. Pay them back for their long hours in the Devil's workshop; Then cap it with a huge bonus.
4 Give them according to their work, and according to the wickedness of their doings. Give them according to the operation of their hands. Bring back on them what they deserve.
5 Because they have no idea how God works or what he is up to, God will smash them to smithereens and walk away from the ruins.
5 Because they don't regard the works of Yahweh, Nor the operation of his hands, He will break them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be God - he heard me praying.
6 Blessed be Yahweh, Because he has heard the voice of my petitions.
7 He proved he's on my side; I've thrown my lot in with him. Now I'm jumping for joy, and shouting and singing my thanks to him.
7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him.
8 God is all strength for his people, ample refuge for his chosen leader;
8 Yahweh is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation to his anointed.
9 Save your people and bless your heritage. Care for them; carry them like a good shepherd.
9 Save your people, and bless your inheritance. Be their shepherd also, and bear them up forever.
