1 You, divine beings! Give to the LORD— give to the LORD glory and power!
1 Bravo, God, bravo! Gods and all angels shout, "Encore!"
2 Give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bow down to the LORD in holy splendor!
2 In awe before the glory, in awe before God's visible power. Stand at attention! Dress your best to honor him!
3 The LORD's voice is over the waters; the glorious God thunders; the LORD is over the mighty waters.
3 God thunders across the waters, Brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness - God, across the flood waters.
4 The LORD's voice is strong; the LORD's voice is majestic.
4 God's thunder tympanic, God's thunder symphonic.
5 The LORD's voice breaks cedar trees— yes, the LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon.
5 God's thunder smashes cedars, God topples the northern cedars.
6 He makes Lebanon jump around like a young bull, makes Sirion jump around like a young wild ox.
6 The mountain ranges skip like spring colts, The high ridges jump like wild kid goats.
7 The LORD's voice unleashes fiery flames;
7 God's thunder spits fire.
8 the LORD's voice shakes the wilderness— yes, the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
8 God thunders, the wilderness quakes; He makes the desert of Kadesh shake.
9 The LORD's voice convulses the oaks, strips the forests bare, but in his temple everyone shouts, "Glory!"
9 God's thunder sets the oak trees dancing A wild dance, whirling; the pelting rain strips their branches. We fall to our knees - we call out, "Glory!"
10 The LORD sits enthroned over the floodwaters; the LORD sits enthroned—king forever!
10 Above the floodwaters is God's throne from which his power flows, from which he rules the world.
11 Let the LORD give strength to his people! Let the LORD bless his people with peace!
11 God makes his people strong. God gives his people peace.
