1 Bravo, God, bravo! Gods and all angels shout, "Encore!"
1
<<A Psalm by David.>> Ascribe to Yahweh, you sons of the mighty, Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.
2 In awe before the glory, in awe before God's visible power. Stand at attention! Dress your best to honor him!
2
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Worship Yahweh in holy array.
3 God thunders across the waters, Brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness - God, across the flood waters.
3
The voice of Yahweh is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Yahweh on many waters.
4 God's thunder tympanic, God's thunder symphonic.
4
The voice of Yahweh is powerful. The voice of Yahweh is full of majesty.
5 God's thunder smashes cedars, God topples the northern cedars.
5
The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars. Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 The mountain ranges skip like spring colts, The high ridges jump like wild kid goats.
6
He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 God's thunder spits fire.
7
The voice of Yahweh strikes with flashes of lightning.
8 God thunders, the wilderness quakes; He makes the desert of Kadesh shake.
8
The voice of Yahweh shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 God's thunder sets the oak trees dancing A wild dance, whirling; the pelting rain strips their branches. We fall to our knees - we call out, "Glory!"
9
The voice of Yahweh makes the deer calve, And strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, "Glory!"
10 Above the floodwaters is God's throne from which his power flows, from which he rules the world.
10
Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever.
11 God makes his people strong. God gives his people peace.
11
Yahweh will give strength to his people. Yahweh will bless his people with peace.
