Psalm 61

MSG

WEB

1 God, listen to me shout, bend an ear to my prayer.
1 <<For the Chief Musician. For a stringed instrument. By David.>> Hear my cry, God. Listen to my prayer.
2 When I'm far from anywhere, down to my last gasp, I call out, "Guide me up High Rock Mountain!"
2 From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 You've always given me breathing room, a place to get away from it all,
3 For you have been a refuge for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
4 A lifetime pass to your safe-house, an open invitation as your guest.
4 I will dwell in your tent forever. I will take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah.
5 You've always taken me seriously, God, made me welcome among those who know and love you.
5 For you, God, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Let the days of the king add up to years and years of good rule.
6 You will prolong the king's life; His years shall be for generations.
7 Set his throne in the full light of God; post Steady Love and Good Faith as lookouts,
7 He shall be enthroned in God's presence forever. Appoint your lovingkindness and truth, that they may preserve him.
8 And I'll be the poet who sings your glory - and live what I sing every day.
8 So I will sing praise to your name forever, That I may fulfill my vows daily.
