Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible RHE
New Living Translation NLT
1 (94-1) Come let us praise the Lord with joy: let us joyfully sing to God our saviour.
1
Come, let us sing to the LORD ! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
2 (94-2) Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.
2
Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
3 (94-3) For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
3
For the LORD is a great God, a great King above all gods.
4 (94-4) For in his hand are all the ends of the earth: and the heights of the mountains are his.
4
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.
5 (94-5) For the sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
5
The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too.
6 (94-6) Come let us adore and fall down: and weep before the Lord that made us.
6
Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker,
7 (94-7) For he is the Lord our God: and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
7
for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today!
8 (94-8) To day if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:
8
The LORD says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness.
9 (94-9) As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness: where your fathers tempted me, they proved me, and saw my works.
9
For there your ancestors tested and tried my patience, even though they saw everything I did.
10 (94-10) Forty years long was I offended with that generation, and I said: These always err in heart.
10
For forty years I was angry with them, and I said, ‘They are a people whose hearts turn away from me. They refuse to do what I tell them.’
11 (94-11) And these men have not known my ways: so I swore in my wrath that they shall not enter into my rest.
11
So in my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest.’”
