1 Cantique des degrés. De David. Eternel! je n'ai ni un coeur qui s'enfle, ni des regards hautains; Je ne m'occupe pas de choses trop grandes et trop relevées pour moi.

LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2 Loin de là, j'ai l'âme calme et tranquille, Comme un enfant sevré qui est auprès de sa mère; J'ai l'âme comme un enfant sevré.

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
3 Israël, mets ton espoir en l'Eternel, Dès maintenant et à jamais!
