1 Escucha, SEÑOR, mi oración;llegue a ti mi clamor.

Hear my prayer, LORD; let my cry for help come to you.
2 No escondas de mí tu rostrocuando me encuentro angustiado.Inclina a mí tu oído;respóndeme pronto cuando te llame.

Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.
3 Pues mis días se desvanecen como el humo,los huesos me arden como brasas.

For my days vanish like smoke; my bones burn like glowing embers.
4 Mi corazón decae y se marchita como la hierba;¡hasta he perdido el apetito!

My heart is blighted and withered like grass; I forget to eat my food.
5 Por causa de mis fuertes gemidosse me pueden contar los huesos.

In my distress I groan aloud and am reduced to skin and bones.
6 Parezco una lechuza del desierto;soy como un búho entre las ruinas.

I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins.
7 No logro conciliar el sueño;parezco ave solitaria sobre el tejado.

I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof.
8 A todas horas me ofenden mis enemigos,y hasta usan mi nombre para maldecir.

All day long my enemies taunt me; those who rail against me use my name as a curse.
9 Las cenizas son todo mi alimento;mis lágrimas se mezclan con mi bebida.

For I eat ashes as my food and mingle my drink with tears
10 ¡Por tu enojo, por tu indignación,me levantaste para luego arrojarme!

because of your great wrath, for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 Mis días son como sombras nocturnas;me voy marchitando como la hierba.

My days are like the evening shadow; I wither away like grass.
12 Pero tú, SEÑOR, reinas eternamente;tu nombre perdura por todas las generaciones.

But you, LORD, sit enthroned forever; your renown endures through all generations.
13 Te levantarás y tendrás piedad de Sión,pues ya es tiempo de que la compadezcas.¡Ha llegado el momento señalado!

You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.
14 Tus siervos sienten cariño por sus ruinas;los mueven a compasión sus escombros.

For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity.
15 Las naciones temerán el nombre del SEÑOR;todos los reyes de la tierra reconocerán su majestad.

The nations will fear the name of the LORD, all the kings of the earth will revere your glory.
16 Porque el SEÑOR reconstruirá a Sión,y se manifestará en su esplendor.

For the LORD will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory.
17 Atenderá a la oración de los desamparados,y no desdeñará sus ruegos.

He will respond to the prayer of the destitute; he will not despise their plea.
18 Que se escriba esto para las generaciones futuras,y que el pueblo que será creado alabe al SEÑOR.

Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD:
19 Miró el SEÑOR desde su altísimo santuario;contempló la tierra desde el cielo,

“The LORD looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 para oír los lamentos de los cautivosy liberar a los condenados a muerte;
20
to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.”
21 para proclamar en Sión el nombre del SEÑORy anunciar en Jerusalén su alabanza,

So the name of the LORD will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem
22 cuando todos los pueblos y los reinosse reúnan para adorar al SEÑOR.

when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship the LORD.
23 En el curso de mi vida acabó Dios con mis fuerzas;me redujo los días.

In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days.
24 Por eso dije:«No me lleves, Dios mío, a la mitad de mi vida;tú permaneces por todas las generaciones.

So I said: “Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations.
25 En el principio tú afirmaste la tierra,y los cielos son la obra de tus manos.

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
26 Ellos perecerán, pero tú permaneces.Todos ellos se desgastarán como un vestido.Y como ropa los cambiarás,y los dejarás de lado.

They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
27 Pero tú eres siempre el mismo,y tus años no tienen fin.

But you remain the same, and your years will never end.
28 Los hijos de tus siervos se establecerán,y sus descendientes habitarán en tu presencia».

The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.”
