1 BENDICE, alma mía, á Jehová. Jehová, Dios mío, mucho te has engrandecido; Haste vestido de gloria y de magnificencia.

Praise the LORD, my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great. You are clothed with splendor and majesty.
2 El que se cubre de luz como de vestidura, Que extiende los cielos como una cortina;

You cover yourself with light as though it were a robe. You stretch out the heavens as though they were curtains.
3 Que establece sus aposentos entre las aguas; El que pone las nubes por su carroza, El que anda sobre las alas del viento;

You lay the beams of your home in the water. You use the clouds for your chariot. You move on the wings of the wind.
4 El que hace á sus ángeles espíritus, Sus ministros al fuego flameante.

You make your angels winds and your servants flames of fire.
5 El fundó la tierra sobre sus basas; No será jamás removida.

You set the earth on its foundations so that it can never be shaken.
6 Con el abismo, como con vestido, la cubriste; Sobre los montes estaban las aguas.

You covered the earth with an ocean as though it were a robe. Water stood above the mountains
7 A tu reprensión huyeron; Al sonido de tu trueno se apresuraron;

and fled because of your threat. Water ran away at the sound of your thunder.
8 Subieron los montes, descendieron los valles, Al lugar que tú les fundaste.

The mountains rose and the valleys sank to the place you appointed for them.
9 Pusísteles término, el cual no traspasarán; Ni volverán á cubrir la tierra.

Water cannot cross the boundary you set and cannot come back to cover the earth.
10 Tú eres el que envías las fuentes por los arroyos; Van entre los montes.

You make water gush from springs into valleys. It flows between the mountains.
11 Abrevan á todas las bestias del campo: Quebrantan su sed los asnos montaraces.

Every wild animal drinks [from them]. Wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Junto á aquellos habitarán las aves de los cielos; Entre las ramas dan voces.

The birds live by the streams. They sing among the branches.
13 El que riega los montes desde sus aposentos: Del fruto de sus obras se sacia la tierra.

You water the mountains from your home above. You fill the earth with the fruits of your labors.
14 El que hace producir el heno para las bestias, Y la hierba para el servicio del hombre; Sacando el pan de la tierra.

You make grass grow for cattle and make vegetables for humans to use in order to get food from the ground.
15 Y el vino que alegra el corazón del hombre, Y el aceite que hace lucir el rostro, Y el pan que sustenta el corazón del hombre.

You make wine to cheer human hearts, olive oil to make faces shine, and bread to strengthen human hearts.
16 Llénanse de jugo los árboles de Jehová, Los cedros del Líbano que él plantó.

The LORD's trees, the cedars in Lebanon which he planted, drink their fill.
17 Allí anidan las aves; En las hayas hace su casa la cigüeña.

Birds build their nests in them. Storks make their homes in fir trees.
18 Los montes altos para las cabras monteses; Las peñas, madrigueras para los conejos.

The high mountains are for wild goats. The rocks are a refuge for badgers.
19 Hizo la luna para los tiempos: El sol conoce su ocaso.

He created the moon, which marks the seasons, and the sun, which knows when to set.
20 Pone las tinieblas, y es la noche: En ella corretean todas las bestias de la selva.

He brings darkness, and it is nighttime, when all the wild animals in the forest come out.
21 Los leoncillos braman á la presa, Y para buscar de Dios su comida.

The young lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
22 Sale el sol, recógense, Y échanse en sus cuevas.

When the sun rises, they gather and lie down in their dens.
23 Sale el hombre á su hacienda, Y á su labranza hasta la tarde.

Then people go to do their work, to do their tasks until evening.
24 ¡Cuán muchas son tus obras, oh Jehová! Hiciste todas ellas con sabiduría: La tierra está llena de tus beneficios.

What a large number of things you have made, O LORD! You made them all by wisdom. The earth is filled with your creatures.
25 Asimismo esta gran mar y ancha de términos: En ella pescados sin número, Animales pequeños y grandes.

The sea is so big and wide with countless creatures, living things both large and small.
26 Allí andan navíos; Allí este leviathán que hiciste para que jugase en ella.

Ships sail on it, and Leviathan, which you made, plays in it.
27 Todos ellos esperan en ti, Para que les des su comida á su tiempo.

All of them look to you to give them their food at the right time.
28 Les das, recogen; Abres tu mano, hártanse de bien.

You give it to them, and they gather it up. You open your hand, and they are filled with blessings.
29 Escondes tu rostro, túrbanse: Les quitas el espíritu, dejan de ser, Y tórnanse en su polvo.

You hide your face, and they are terrified. You take away their breath, and they die and return to dust.
30 Envías tu espíritu, críanse: Y renuevas la haz de la tierra.

You send out your Spirit, and they are created. You renew the face of the earth.
31 Sea la gloria de Jehová para siempre; Alégrese Jehová en sus obras;

May the glory of the LORD endure forever. May the LORD find joy in what he has made.
32 El cual mira á la tierra, y ella tiembla; Toca los montes, y humean.

He looks at the earth, and it trembles. He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 A Jehová cantaré en mi vida: A mi Dios salmearé mientras viviere.

I will sing to the LORD throughout my life. I will make music to praise my God as long as I live.
34 Serme ha suave hablar de él: Yo me alegraré en Jehová.

May my thoughts be pleasing to him. I will find joy in the LORD.
35 Sean consumidos de la tierra los pecadores, Y los impíos dejen de ser. Bendice, alma mía, á Jehová. Aleluya.

May sinners vanish from the world. May there no longer be any wicked people. Praise the LORD, my soul! Hallelujah!
