1 Salmo 106<br />¡Alabado sea el Señor<br />!<br />¡Den gracias al Señor<br />, porque él es bueno!<br />Su fiel amor perdura para siempre.

Praise the LORD.Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
2 ¿Quién podrá enumerar los gloriosos milagros del Señor<br />?<br />¿Quién podrá alabarlo lo suficiente?

Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORDor fully declare his praise?
3 Hay alegría para los que tratan con justicia a los demás<br />y siempre hacen lo que es correcto.

Blessed are those who act justly, who always do what is right.
4 Acuérdate de mí, Señor<br />, cuando le muestres favor a tu pueblo;<br />acércate y rescátame.

Remember me, LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them,
5 Déjame tener parte en la prosperidad de tus elegidos.<br />Permite que me alegre por el gozo de tu pueblo;<br />concédeme alabarte con los que son tu herencia.

that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise.
6 Hemos pecado como nuestros antepasados.<br />¡Hicimos lo malo y actuamos de manera perversa!

We have sinned, even as our ancestors did; we have done wrong and acted wickedly.
7 Nuestros antepasados en Egipto<br />no quedaron conmovidos ante las obras milagrosas del Señor<br />.<br />Pronto olvidaron sus muchos actos de bondad hacia ellos;<br />en cambio, se rebelaron contra él en el mar Rojo.

When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.
8 Aun así, él los salvó:<br />para defender el honor de su nombre<br />y para demostrar su gran poder.

Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known.

He rebuked the Red Sea, and it dried up; he led them through the depths as through a desert.

He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them.
11 Después el agua volvió y cubrió a sus enemigos;<br />ninguno de ellos sobrevivió.

The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived.
12 Entonces el pueblo creyó las promesas del Señor<br />y le cantó alabanzas.

Then they believed his promises and sang his praise.
13 Sin embargo, ¡qué pronto olvidaron lo que él había hecho!<br />¡No quisieron esperar su consejo!

But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.
14 En el desierto dieron rienda suelta a sus deseos,<br />pusieron a prueba la paciencia de Dios en esa tierra árida y baldía.

In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wilderness they put God to the test.
15 Entonces les dio lo que pedían,<br />pero al mismo tiempo les envió una plaga.

So he gave them what they asked for, but sent a wasting disease among them.
16 La gente del campamento se puso celosa de Moisés<br />y tuvo envidia de Aarón, el santo sacerdote del Señor<br />.

In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the LORD.
17 Por esa causa la tierra se abrió,<br />se tragó a Datán<br />y enterró a Abiram junto con los otros rebeldes.

The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan; it buried the company of Abiram.
18 Sobre sus seguidores cayó fuego;<br />una llama consumió a los perversos.

Fire blazed among their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.
19 Los israelitas hicieron un becerro en el monte Sinaí;<br />se inclinaron ante una imagen hecha de oro.

At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal.
20 Cambiaron a su glorioso Dios<br />por la estatua de un toro que come hierba.

They exchanged their glorious God for an image of a bull, which eats grass.
21 Se olvidaron de Dios, su salvador,<br />quien había realizado tantas grandezas en Egipto:

They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt,
22 obras tan maravillosas en la tierra de Cam,<br />hechos tan asombrosos en el mar Rojo.

miracles in the land of Ham and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
23 Por lo tanto, él declaró que los destruiría.<br />Pero Moisés, su escogido, intervino entre el Señor<br /> y los israelitas;<br />le suplicó que apartara su ira y que no los destruyera.

So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.
24 El pueblo se negó a entrar en la agradable tierra,<br />porque no creían la promesa de que Dios los iba a cuidar.

Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.
25 En cambio, rezongaron en sus carpas<br />y se negaron a obedecer al Señor<br />.

They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the LORD.
26 Por lo tanto, él juró solemnemente<br />que los mataría en el desierto,

So he swore to them with uplifted hand that he would make them fall in the wilderness,
27 que dispersaría a sus descendientes entre las naciones,<br />y los enviaría a tierras distantes.

make their descendants fall among the nations and scatter them throughout the lands.
28 Después nuestros antepasados se unieron para rendir culto a Baal en Peor;<br />¡hasta comieron sacrificios ofrecidos a los muertos!

They yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor and ate sacrifices offered to lifeless gods;
29 Con todo eso provocaron el enojo del Señor<br />,<br />entonces se desató una plaga en medio de ellos.

they aroused the LORD’s anger by their wicked deeds, and a plague broke out among them.
30 Pero Finees tuvo el valor de intervenir<br />y la plaga se detuvo.

But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked.
31 Por eso, desde entonces,<br />se le considera un hombre justo.

This was credited to him as righteousness for endless generations to come.
32 También en Meriba, provocaron el enojo del Señor<br />,<br />y le causaron serios problemas a Moisés.

By the waters of Meribah they angered the LORD, and trouble came to Moses because of them;
33 Hicieron que Moisés se enojara<br />y hablara como un necio.

for they rebelled against the Spirit of God, and rash words came from Moses’ lips.
34 Israel no destruyó a las naciones que había en la tierra,<br />como el Señor<br /> le había ordenado.

They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,
35 En cambio, los israelitas se mezclaron con los paganos<br />y adoptaron sus malas costumbres.

but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs.
36 Rindieron culto a sus ídolos,<br />y eso resultó en su ruina.

They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them.
37 Hasta sacrificaron a sus propios hijos<br />e hijas a los demonios.

They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to false gods.
38 Derramaron sangre inocente,<br />la sangre de sus hijos e hijas.<br />Al sacrificarlos a los ídolos de Canaán,<br />contaminaron la tierra con asesinatos.

They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood.
39 Se contaminaron a sí mismos con sus malas acciones,<br />y su amor a los ídolos fue adulterio a los ojos del Señor<br />.

They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves.
40 Por eso, el enojo del Señor<br /> se encendió contra su pueblo,<br />y él aborreció a su posesión más preciada.

Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.
41 Los entregó a las naciones paganas<br />y quedaron bajo el gobierno de quienes los odiaban.

He gave them into the hands of the nations, and their foes ruled over them.
42 Sus enemigos los aplastaron<br />y los sometieron a su cruel poder.

Their enemies oppressed them and subjected them to their power.
43 Él los rescató una y otra vez,<br />pero ellos decidieron rebelarse en su contra,<br />y finalmente su pecado los destruyó.

Many times he delivered them, but they were bent on rebellion and they wasted away in their sin.
44 Aun así, él sintió compasión por la angustia de ellos<br />y escuchó sus clamores.

Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry;

for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.

He caused all who held them captive to show them mercy.

Save us, LORD our God, and gather us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise.
48 Alaben al Señor<br />, Dios de Israel,<br />quien vive desde siempre y para siempre.<br />Que todo el pueblo diga: «¡Amén!».<br />¡Alabado sea el Señor<br />!

Praise be to the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise the LORD.
