My God, whom I praise, do not remain silent,
2 mientras los perversos me calumnian<br />y dicen mentiras acerca de mí.

for people who are wicked and deceitful have opened their mouths against me; they have spoken against me with lying tongues.
3 Me rodean con palabras de odio<br />y sin razón pelean contra mí.

With words of hatred they surround me; they attack me without cause.
4 Yo los amo, pero ellos tratan de destruirme con acusaciones,<br />¡incluso mientras oro por ellos!

In return for my friendship they accuse me, but I am a man of prayer.
5 Me devuelven mal por bien<br />y odio a cambio de mi amor.

They repay me evil for good, and hatred for my friendship.

Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy; let an accuser stand at his right hand.
7 Cuando llegue el momento de juzgar su caso,<br />que lo declaren culpable.<br />Tomen como pecados sus oraciones.

When he is tried, let him be found guilty, and may his prayers condemn him.
8 Que sean pocos sus años;<br />que otro tome su lugar.

May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership.
9 Que sus hijos queden huérfanos de padre,<br />y su esposa quede viuda.

May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
10 Que sus hijos vaguen como mendigos<br />y que los echen de sus hogares destruidos.

May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes.
11 Que los acreedores se apoderen de toda su propiedad,<br />y que los extraños se lleven todo lo que ha ganado.

May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor.
12 Que nadie sea amable con él;<br />que ninguno tenga piedad de sus hijos sin padre.

May no one extend kindness to him or take pity on his fatherless children.
13 Que toda su descendencia muera;<br />que el nombre de su familia quede borrado en una sola generación.

May his descendants be cut off, their names blotted out from the next generation.
14 Que el Señor<br /> jamás olvide los pecados de su padre;<br />que los pecados de su madre nunca se borren de los registros.

May the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD; may the sin of his mother never be blotted out.
15 Que el Señor<br /> siempre recuerde estos pecados,<br />y que su nombre desaparezca de la memoria humana.

May their sins always remain before the LORD, that he may blot out their name from the earth.
16 Pues rehusó mostrar bondad a los demás;<br />persiguió al pobre y al necesitado,<br />y acosó hasta la muerte a los de corazón quebrantado.

For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy and the brokenhearted.
17 Le encantaba maldecir a otros;<br />ahora, maldícelo tú a él.<br />Jamás bendijo a nadie;<br />ahora, no lo bendigas a él.

He loved to pronounce a curse— may it come back on him. He found no pleasure in blessing— may it be far from him.
18 Maldecir le resulta tan natural como la ropa que usa,<br />o el agua que bebe<br />o los alimentos deliciosos que come.

He wore cursing as his garment; it entered into his body like water, into his bones like oil.
19 Ahora, que sus maldiciones se vuelvan en su contra y se le peguen como la ropa;<br />que le aprieten como un cinturón».

May it be like a cloak wrapped about him, like a belt tied forever around him.
20 Que esas maldiciones sean el castigo del Señor<br />para los acusadores que hablan mal de mí.

May this be the LORD’s payment to my accusers, to those who speak evil of me.
21 Pero a mí trátame bien, Señor<br /> Soberano,<br />¡por el honor de tu propia fama!<br />Rescátame<br />porque eres tan fiel y tan bueno.

But you, Sovereign LORD, help me for your name’s sake; out of the goodness of your love, deliver me.
22 Pues soy pobre y estoy necesitado,<br />y mi corazón está lleno de dolor.

For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 Me desvanezco como una sombra al anochecer;<br />me quitan de encima como una langosta.

I fade away like an evening shadow; I am shaken off like a locust.
24 Mis rodillas están débiles de tanto ayunar<br />y estoy reducido a piel y huesos.

My knees give way from fasting; my body is thin and gaunt.
25 Soy objeto de burla para la gente;<br />cuando me ven, menean la cabeza en señal de desprecio.

I am an object of scorn to my accusers; when they see me, they shake their heads.
26 ¡Ayúdame, Señor<br /> mi Dios!<br />Sálvame a causa de tu amor inagotable.

Help me, LORD my God; save me according to your unfailing love.
27 Haz que vean que esto proviene de ti,<br />que tú mismo lo has hecho, Señor<br />.

Let them know that it is your hand, that you, LORD, have done it.
28 Entonces que me maldigan si quieren,<br />¡pero tú me bendecirás!<br />Cuando me ataquen, ¡serán deshonrados!<br />¡Pero yo, tu siervo, seguiré alegrándome!

While they curse, may you bless; may those who attack me be put to shame, but may your servant rejoice.
29 Que mis acusadores se vistan de vergüenza;<br />que la humillación los cubra como un manto.

May my accusers be clothed with disgrace and wrapped in shame as in a cloak.
30 Pero yo daré gracias al Señor<br /> una y otra vez,<br />lo alabaré ante todo el mundo.

With my mouth I will greatly extol the LORD; in the great throng of worshipers I will praise him.
31 Pues él está junto al necesitado,<br />listo para salvarlo de quienes lo condenan.

For he stands at the right hand of the needy, to save their lives from those who would condemn them.
