1 Salmo 50<br />Salmo de Asaf.<br />El Señor<br />, el Poderoso, es Dios y habló;<br />convocó a toda la humanidad<br />desde donde sale el sol hasta donde se pone.

The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to where it sets.
2 Desde el monte Sión, la perfección de la belleza,<br />Dios brilla con un resplandor glorioso.

From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.
3 Nuestro Dios se acerca,<br />pero no en silencio.<br />A su paso el fuego devora todo lo que encuentra,<br />y a su alrededor se desata una gran tormenta.

Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.
4 Pone al cielo arriba y a la tierra abajo<br />como testigos del juicio a su pueblo.

He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 «Tráiganme a mi pueblo fiel,<br />a los que hicieron un pacto conmigo, al ofrecer sacrificios».

“Gather to me this consecrated people, who made a covenant with me by sacrifice.”
6 Luego dejen que los cielos proclamen la justicia divina,<br />porque Dios mismo será el juez.<br />Interludio

And the heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a God of justice.
7 «Oh pueblo mío, escucha cuando te hablo.<br />Estas son las acusaciones que tengo contra ti, oh Israel:<br />¡yo soy Dios, tu Dios!

“Listen, my people, and I will speak; I will testify against you, Israel: I am God, your God.
8 No tengo quejas de tus sacrificios<br />ni de las ofrendas quemadas que ofreces constantemente.

I bring no charges against you concerning your sacrifices or concerning your burnt offerings, which are ever before me.
9 Pero no necesito los toros de tus establos<br />ni las cabras de tus corrales.

I have no need of a bull from your stall or of goats from your pens,
10 Pues todos los animales del bosque son míos,<br />y soy dueño del ganado de mil colinas.

for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 Conozco a cada pájaro de las montañas,<br />y todos los animales del campo me pertenecen.

I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine.
12 Si tuviera hambre, no te lo diría a ti,<br />porque mío es el mundo entero y todo lo que hay en él.

If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
13 ¿Acaso me alimento de carne de toro?<br />¿Acaso bebo sangre de cabra?

Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Haz que la gratitud sea tu sacrificio a Dios<br />y cumple los votos que le has hecho al Altísimo.

“Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High,
15 Luego llámame cuando tengas problemas,<br />y yo te rescataré,<br />y tú me darás la gloria».

and call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
16 Pero Dios dice a los perversos:<br />«¿Para qué se molestan en recitar mis decretos<br />y en fingir que obedecen mi pacto?

But to the wicked person, God says: “What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?
17 Pues rechazan mi disciplina<br />y tratan mis palabras como basura.

You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.
18 Cuando ven ladrones, les dan su aprobación,<br />y se pasan el tiempo con adúlteros.

When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.
19 Tienen la boca llena de maldad,<br />y la lengua repleta de mentiras.

You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.
20 Se la pasan calumniando a su hermano,<br />a su propio hermano de sangre.

You sit and testify against your brother and slander your own mother’s son.
21 Mientras ustedes hacían todo esto, yo permanecí en silencio,<br />y pensaron que no me importaba.<br />Pero ahora los voy a reprender,<br />presentaré todas las acusaciones que tengo contra ustedes.

When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.
22 Arrepiéntanse todos los que se olvidan de mí,<br />o los despedazaré<br />y nadie los ayudará.

“Consider this, you who forget God, or I will tear you to pieces, with no one to rescue you:
23 Pero el dar gracias es un sacrificio que verdaderamente me honra;<br />si permanecen en mi camino,<br />les daré a conocer la salvación de Dios».

Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”
