1 L<br /> T<br /> (Salmos 73–89)<br />Salmo 73<br />Salmo de Asaf.<br />En verdad Dios es bueno con Israel,<br />con los de corazón puro.

Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.
2 Pero en cuanto a mí, casi perdí el equilibrio;<br />mis pies resbalaron y estuve a punto de caer,

But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.
3 porque envidiaba a los orgullosos<br />cuando los veía prosperar a pesar de su maldad.

For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 Pareciera que viven sin problemas;<br />tienen el cuerpo tan sano y fuerte.

They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.
5 No tienen dificultades como otras personas;<br />no están llenos de problemas como los demás.

They are free from common human burdens; they are not plagued by human ills.
6 Lucen su orgullo como un collar de piedras preciosas<br />y se visten de crueldad.

Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.
7 ¡Estos gordos ricachones tienen todo<br />lo que su corazón desea!

From their callous hearts comes iniquity ; their evil imaginations have no limits.
8 Se burlan y hablan solo maldades;<br />en su orgullo procuran aplastar a otros.

They scoff, and speak with malice; with arrogance they threaten oppression.
9 Se jactan contra los cielos mismos,<br />y sus palabras se pasean presuntuosas por toda la tierra.

Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.
10 Entonces la gente se desanima y se confunde,<br />al tragarse todas esas palabras.

Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.
11 «¿Y qué sabe Dios? —preguntan—.<br />¿Acaso el Altísimo sabe lo que está pasando?».

They say, “How would God know? Does the Most High know anything?”
12 Miren a esos perversos:<br />disfrutan de una vida fácil mientras sus riquezas se multiplican.

This is what the wicked are like— always free of care, they go on amassing wealth.
13 ¿Conservé puro mi corazón en vano?<br />¿Me mantuve en inocencia sin ninguna razón?

Surely in vain I have kept my heart pure and have washed my hands in innocence.
14 En todo el día no consigo más que problemas;<br />cada mañana me trae dolor.

All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.
15 Si yo realmente hubiera hablado a otros de esta manera,<br />habría sido un traidor a tu pueblo.

If I had spoken out like that, I would have betrayed your children.
16 Traté de entender por qué los malvados prosperan,<br />¡pero qué tarea tan difícil!

When I tried to understand all this, it troubled me deeply
17 Entonces entré en tu santuario, oh Dios,<br />y por fin entendí el destino de los perversos.

till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.
18 En verdad, los pones en un camino resbaladizo<br />y haces que se deslicen por el precipicio hacia su ruina.

Surely you place them on slippery ground; you cast them down to ruin.
19 Al instante quedan destruidos,<br />totalmente consumidos por los terrores.

How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors!
20 Cuando te levantes, oh Señor,<br />te reirás de sus tontas ideas<br />como uno se ríe por la mañana de lo que soñó en la noche.

They are like a dream when one awakes; when you arise, Lord, you will despise them as fantasies.
21 Entonces me di cuenta de que mi corazón se llenó de amargura,<br />y yo estaba destrozado por dentro.

When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered,
22 Fui tan necio e ignorante,<br />debo haberte parecido un animal sin entendimiento.

I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.
23 Sin embargo, todavía te pertenezco;<br />me tomas de la mano derecha.

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
24 Me guías con tu consejo<br />y me conduces a un destino glorioso.

You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 ¿A quién tengo en el cielo sino a ti?<br />Te deseo más que cualquier cosa en la tierra.

Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 Puede fallarme la salud y debilitarse mi espíritu,<br />pero Dios sigue siendo la fuerza de mi corazón;<br />él es mío para siempre.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 Los que lo abandonen, perecerán,<br />porque tú destruyes a los que se alejan de ti.

Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28 En cuanto a mí, ¡qué bueno es estar cerca de Dios!<br />Hice al Señor<br /> Soberano mi refugio,<br />y a todos les contaré las maravillas que haces.

But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.
