3 Busquen al Señor<br /> los que son humildes<br />y sigan sus mandamientos.<br />Procuren hacer lo que es correcto<br />y vivir con humildad.<br />Quizá todavía el Señor<br /> los proteja<br />y los libre de su ira en ese día de destrucción.

4 Juicio contra Filistea<br />Gaza y Ascalón serán abandonadas,<br />Asdod y Ecrón, derribadas.

5 Y qué aflicción les espera, filisteos,<br />que viven a lo largo de la costa y en la tierra de Canaán,<br />¡porque este juicio es también en contra de ustedes!<br />El Señor<br /> los destruirá<br />hasta que no quede ni uno de ustedes.

6 La costa filistea se convertirá en pastizales desiertos,<br />un lugar en el que acampan los pastores<br />con corrales para ovejas y cabras.

7 Allí pastoreará un remanente de la tribu de Judá.<br />Por las noches descansarán en las casas abandonadas de Ascalón.<br />Pues el Señor<br /> su Dios visitará a su pueblo con bondad<br />y le devolverá su prosperidad.

8 Juicio contra Moab y Amón<br />«He oído las burlas de los moabitas<br />y los insultos de los amonitas<br />cuando se mofan de mi pueblo<br />e invaden sus fronteras.

9 Ahora, tan cierto como que yo vivo,<br />—dice el Señor<br /> de los Ejércitos Celestiales, Dios de Israel—,<br />Moab y Amón serán destruidos,<br />aniquilados por completo, igual que Sodoma y Gomorra.<br />Su tierra será un lugar de ortigas,<br />de pozos de sal y de desolación eterna.<br />El remanente de mi pueblo los saqueará<br />y tomará su tierra».

10 Recibirán el pago de su orgullo,<br />porque se burlaron del pueblo del Señor<br /> de los Ejércitos Celestiales.

11 El Señor<br /> los llenará de terror<br />cuando destruya a todos los dioses de la tierra.<br />Entonces naciones en todo el mundo adorarán al Señor<br />,<br />cada una en su propio país.

12 Juicio contra Etiopía y Asiria<br />«Ustedes, etíopes,<br /> también serán masacrados<br />por mi espada», dice el Señor<br />.

13 Con su puño, el Señor<br /> golpeará a las tierras del norte<br />y así destruirá a la tierra de Asiria.<br />Hará de Nínive, su gran capital, una desolada tierra baldía,<br />reseca como un desierto.

14 La orgullosa ciudad vendrá a ser pastizal para los rebaños y manadas;<br />allí se instalará y vivirá toda clase de animales salvajes.<br />El búho del desierto y la lechuza blanca se posarán sobre las columnas destruidas<br />y sus reclamos se oirán por las ventanas rotas.<br />Los escombros taparán todas las puertas<br />y los revestimientos de cedro quedarán a la intemperie.

15 Esta es la ruidosa ciudad<br />que un día fue tan segura.<br />«¡Yo soy la más grande! —se jactaba—.<br />¡No hay otra ciudad que se compare conmigo!».<br />Sin embargo, ahora, miren la ruina en la que se convirtió,<br />un refugio de animales salvajes.<br />Todo el que pase por allí, se reirá con desdén<br />y sacudirá su puño en señal de desafío.

1 Gather together, gather yourselves together, you shameful nation,

2 before the decree takes effect and that day passes like windblown chaff, before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you, before the day of the LORD’s wrath comes upon you.

3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.

4 Gaza will be abandoned and Ashkelon left in ruins. At midday Ashdod will be emptied and Ekron uprooted.

5 Woe to you who live by the sea, you Kerethite people; the word of the LORD is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines. He says, “I will destroy you, and none will be left.”

6 The land by the sea will become pastures having wells for shepherds and pens for flocks.

7 That land will belong to the remnant of the people of Judah; there they will find pasture. In the evening they will lie down in the houses of Ashkelon. The LORD their God will care for them; he will restore their fortunes.

8 “I have heard the insults of Moab and the taunts of the Ammonites, who insulted my people and made threats against their land.

9 Therefore, as surely as I live,” declares the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, “surely Moab will become like Sodom, the Ammonites like Gomorrah— a place of weeds and salt pits, a wasteland forever. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the survivors of my nation will inherit their land.”

10 This is what they will get in return for their pride, for insulting and mocking the people of the LORD Almighty.

11 The LORD will be awesome to them when he destroys all the gods of the earth. Distant nations will bow down to him, all of them in their own lands.

12 “You Cushites, too, will be slain by my sword.”

13 He will stretch out his hand against the north and destroy Assyria, leaving Nineveh utterly desolate and dry as the desert.

14 Flocks and herds will lie down there, creatures of every kind. The desert owl and the screech owl will roost on her columns. Their hooting will echo through the windows, rubble will fill the doorways, the beams of cedar will be exposed.

15 This is the city of revelry that lived in safety. She said to herself, “I am the one! And there is none besides me.” What a ruin she has become, a lair for wild beasts! All who pass by her scoff and shake their fists.
