Unity, Worship

Unity, Worship
In the book, The Pursuit of God, A.W. Tozer gives this interesting illustration: "Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other? They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one hundred worshipers [meeting] together, each one looking away to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be, were they to become 'unity' conscious and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship."

A goal for the Christian life is to be united with each other in spirit so that our relationships resound like beautiful music in God's ears. Ephesians 5:19 (NIV) tells us, "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord." When we are in tune with one another in order to worship Christ, we are united in giving the praise to Him. There is nothing more important than being in tune with the Master.
