Psalms 31:24

24 (30-25) Do ye manfully, and let your heart be strengthened, all ye that hope in the Lord.

Psalms 31:24 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 31:24

Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart
(See Gill on Psalms 27:14); by this instance of God's wonderful kindness to the psalmist, he would have the saints take heart, and be of good cheer, even in the greatest distresses, since their case cannot be worse than his was; and yet he had deliverance out of it;

all ye that hope in the Lord;
for the eye of the Lord is on such, and he takes delight in them, ( Psalms 33:18 ) ( 147:11 ) . The Targum is, "who hope for", or "trust in the word of the Lord"; the essential Word, the promised Messiah.

Psalms 31:24 In-Context

22 (30-23) But I said in the excess of my mind: I am cast away from before thy eyes. Therefore thou hast heard the voice of my prayer, when I cried to thee.
23 (30-24) O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord will require truth, and will repay them abundantly that act proudly.
24 (30-25) Do ye manfully, and let your heart be strengthened, all ye that hope in the Lord.
