18 O Eterno, o Dio d’Abrahamo, d’Isacco e d’Israele nostri padri, mantieni in perpetuo nel cuore del tuo popolo queste disposizioni, questi pensieri, e rendi saldo il suo cuore in te;

1 Chronicles 29:18

O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers,
&c:] The ancestors of the Jewish nation, whose covenant God the Lord was, and who had ever been mindful of his promise to them, with respect to them their seed:

keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of
thy people;
let the same disposition of mind always continue in them to serve the Lord their God:

and prepare their heart unto thee;
incline and dispose their minds always to fear the Lord, and obey his will.

16 O Eterno, Dio nostro, tutta quest’abbondanza di cose che abbiam preparata per edificare una casa a te, al tuo santo nome, viene dalla tua mano, e tutta ti appartiene.

17 Io so, o mio Dio, che tu scruti il cuore, e ti compiaci della rettitudine; perciò, nella rettitudine del cuor mio, t’ho fatte tutte queste offerte volontarie, e ho veduto ora con gioia il tuo popolo che si trova qui, farti volenterosamente le offerte sue.

18 O Eterno, o Dio d’Abrahamo, d’Isacco e d’Israele nostri padri, mantieni in perpetuo nel cuore del tuo popolo queste disposizioni, questi pensieri, e rendi saldo il suo cuore in te;

19 e da’ a Salomone, mio figliuolo, un cuore integro, affinch’egli osservi i tuoi comandamenti, i tuoi precetti e le tue leggi, affinché eseguisca tutti questi miei piani, e costruisca il palazzo, per il quale ho fatto i preparativi".

20 Poi Davide disse a tutta la raunanza: "Or benedite l’Eterno, il vostro Dio". E tutta la raunanza benedì l’Eterno, l’Iddio de’ loro padri; e s’inchinarono, e si prostrarono dinanzi all’Eterno e dinanzi al re.
