17 La moglie di Geroboamo si levò, partì, e giunse a Tirtsa; e com’ella metteva il piede sulla soglia di casa, il fanciullo morì;

1 Kings 14:17

And Jeroboam's wife arose, and departed,
&e.] Upon this speech of the prophet's to her:

and came to Tirzah;
where Jeroboam now had his court, and where their son now was; it was a royal city in the time of the Canaanites, and is commonly placed in the tribe of Manasseh, and was a very pleasant one, as its name signifies, to which there is an allusion, ( Song of Solomon 6:4 ) , (See Gill on Joshua 12:24),

and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died:
just as she was about to step over the threshold of the royal palace, which seems to have been at the entering of the city of Tirzah, ( 1 Kings 14:12 ) .

15 E l’Eterno colpirà Israele, che sarà come una canna agitata nell’acqua; sradicherà Israele da questa buona terra che avea data ai loro padri, e li disperderà oltre il fiume, perché si son fatti degl’idoli di Astarte provocando ad ira l’Eterno.
16 E abbandonerĂ  Israele a cagion dei peccati che Geroboamo ha commessi e fatti commettere a Israele".
17 La moglie di Geroboamo si levò, partì, e giunse a Tirtsa; e com’ella metteva il piede sulla soglia di casa, il fanciullo morì;
18 e lo seppellirono, e tutto Israele lo pianse, secondo la parola che l’Eterno avea pronunziata per bocca del profeta Ahija, suo servo.
19 Il resto delle azioni di Geroboamo e le sue guerre e il modo come regnò, sono cose scritte nel libro delle Cronache dei re d’Israele.
