17 Questa battaglia non l’avete a combatter voi: presentatevi, tenetevi fermi, e vedrete la liberazione che l’Eterno vi darà. O Giuda, o Gerusalemme, non temete e non vi sgomentate; domani, uscite contro di loro, e l’Eterno sarà con voi".

2 Chronicles 20:17

Ye shall not need to fight in this battle
Since the Lord would fight for them: set yourselves, stand ye still;
present themselves they might, as if ready to engage; and keep their ground, not giving way in the least, but would have no need to strike a stroke: and see the salvation of the Lord with you;
which he would work for them, see ( Exodus 14:13 ) , and Judah, and Jerusalem, fear not, nor be dismayed;
which is repeated for the confirmation of them: tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord will be with you;
to protect them, fight for them, and give them victory; the Targum is, ``the Word of the Lord shall be your help.''

15 E Jahaziel disse: "Porgete orecchio, voi tutti di Giuda, e voi abitanti di Gerusalemme, e tu, o re Giosafat! Così vi dice l’Eterno: Non temete e non vi sgomentate a motivo di questa gran moltitudine; poiché questa non è battaglia vostra, ma di Dio.

16 Domani, scendete contro di loro; eccoli che vengon su per la salita di Tsits, e voi li troverete all’estremità della valle, dirimpetto al deserto di Jeruel.

17 Questa battaglia non l’avete a combatter voi: presentatevi, tenetevi fermi, e vedrete la liberazione che l’Eterno vi darà. O Giuda, o Gerusalemme, non temete e non vi sgomentate; domani, uscite contro di loro, e l’Eterno sarà con voi".

18 Allora Giosafat chinò la faccia a terra, e tutto Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme si prostrarono dinanzi all’Eterno e l’adorarono.

19 E i Leviti di tra i figliuoli dei Kehathiti e di tra i figliuoli dei Korahiti si levarono per lodare ad altissima voce l’Eterno, l’Iddio d’Israele.
