2 Kings 12:15

Moreover, they reckoned not with the men into whose hand they
delivered the money to be bestowed on the workmen
That is, the king's secretary and the high priest, or his officer, never called to account the overseers of the workmen, to whom they committed the money to pay them with; never examined how they laid it out, and for what:

for they dealt faithfully;
they saw they acted such an honest and upright part, and such an high opinion had they of them, that they never examined their accounts, or called for their bills.

13 Ma col danaro ch’era portato alla casa dell’Eterno non si fecero, per la casa dell’Eterno, né coppe d’argento, né smoccolatoi, né bacini, né trombe, né alcun altro utensile d’oro o d’argento;

14 il danaro si dava a quelli che facevano l’opera, ed essi lo impiegavano a restaurare la casa dell’Eterno.

15 E non si faceva render conto a quelli nelle cui mani si rimetteva il danaro per pagare chi eseguiva il lavoro; perché agivano con fedeltà.

16 Il danaro dei sacrifizi di riparazione e quello dei sacrifizi per il peccato non si portava nella casa dell’Eterno; era per i sacerdoti.

17 In quel tempo Hazael, re di Siria, salì a combattere contro Gath, e la prese; poi si dispose a salire contro Gerusalemme.
