Acts 27:4

And when we had launched from thence
From Sidon:

we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary;
that is, they sailed below the island of Cyprus; of which see ( Acts 4:36 ) ( 13:4 ) whereas if the wind had been right for them, they would have sailed above the island; leaving it on the right hand, in a straight course to Myra; but now they were obliged to go below it, leaving it on the left hand, going in part about it, through the seas of Cilicia and Pamphylia to Lycia, as follows.

2 E montati sopra una nave adramittina, che dovea toccare i porti della costa d’Asia, salpammo, avendo con noi Aristarco, Macedone di Tessalonica.

3 Il giorno seguente arrivammo a Sidone; e Giulio, usando umanità verso Paolo, gli permise d’andare dai suoi amici per ricevere le loro cure.

4 Poi, essendo partiti di là, navigammo sotto Cipro, perché i venti eran contrari.

5 E passato il mar di Cilicia e di Panfilia, arrivammo a Mira di Licia.

6 E il centurione, trovata quivi una nave alessandrina che facea vela per l’Italia, ci fe’ montare su quella.
