Ezra 2:62

These sought their register among those that were reckoned by
genealogy
To find their names written and registered there; for the Jews kept public registers of their priests, their descent, marriages, and offspring, that it might be known who were fit, and who not, to officiate as such:

but they were not found;
their names were not there, nor any account taken of them:

therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood;
were not suffered to attend at the altar, and offer sacrifice, and enjoy the privileges belonging to that office.

60 i figliuoli di Delaia, i figliuoli di Tobia, i figliuoli di Nekoda, in tutto, seicento cinquantadue.
61 E di tra i figliuoli de’ sacerdoti: i figliuoli di Habaia, i figliuoli di Hakkots, i figliuoli di Barzillai, che avea preso per moglie una delle figliuole di Barzillai, il Galaadita, e fu chiamato col nome loro.
62 Questi cercarono i loro titoli genealogici, ma non li trovarono; furon quindi esclusi, come impuri, dal sacerdozio;
63 e il governatore disse loro di non mangiare cose santissime finché non si presentasse un sacerdote per consultar Dio con l’Urim e il Thummim.
64 La raunanza, tutt’assieme, noverava quarantaduemila trecentosessanta persone,
