Geremia 1:15

15 Poiché, ecco, io sto per chiamare tutti i popoli dei regni del settentrione, dice l’Eterno; essi verranno, e porranno ognuno il suo trono all’ingresso delle porte di Gerusalemme, contro tutte le sue mura all’intorno, e contro tutte le città di Giuda.

Jeremiah 1:15

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the
north, saith the Lord
Which belonged unto and were under the jurisdiction of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and the "call" of them, as Kimchi well observes, is no other than putting it into their hearts to come: and they shall come;
being influenced and directed by the providence of God, who had a principal concern in this matter: and they shall set everyone his throne at the entering of the gates of
Jerusalem;
meaning, not only that they should pitch their military tents, and encamp about Jerusalem, and place themselves at the entering of the gates, in order to get in; but that they should sit down there in great safety and security, and be very successful, victorious, and triumphant: and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the
cities of Judah;
not only besiege Jerusalem, and take that, but also all the rest of the cities of the land.

13 E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta per la seconda volta, dicendo: "Che vedi?" Io risposi: "Vedo una caldaia che bolle ed ha la bocca vòlta dal settentrione in qua". E l’Eterno mi disse:

14 "Dal settentrione verrà fuori la calamità su tutti gli abitanti del paese.

15 Poiché, ecco, io sto per chiamare tutti i popoli dei regni del settentrione, dice l’Eterno; essi verranno, e porranno ognuno il suo trono all’ingresso delle porte di Gerusalemme, contro tutte le sue mura all’intorno, e contro tutte le città di Giuda.

16 E pronunzierò i miei giudizi contro di loro, a motivo di tutta la loro malvagità, perché m’hanno abbandonato e hanno offerto il loro profumo ad altri dèi e si son prostrati dinanzi all’opera delle loro mani.

17 Tu dunque, cingiti i lombi, lèvati, e di’ loro tutto quello che io ti comanderò. Non ti sgomentare per via di loro, ond’io non ti renda sgomento in loro presenza.
