13 E vi diedi una terra che voi non avevate lavorata, delle città che non avevate costruite; voi abitate in esse e mangiate del frutto delle vigne e degli uliveti che non avete piantati.

Joshua 24:13

And I have given you a land for which you did not labour
Or, in which ^F26, by manuring and cultivating it, by dunging, and ploughing, and sowing:

and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them;
neither built the houses in them, nor the walls and fortifications about them; in which now they dwelt safely, and at ease, and which had been promised them as well as what follows; see ( Deuteronomy 6:10 Deuteronomy 6:11 ) ,

of the vineyards and oliveyards, which ye planted not, do ye eat;
thus far an account is given of the many mercies they had been and were favoured with, and thus far are the words of the Lord by Joshua; next follow the use and improvement Joshua made of them.

11 E passaste il Giordano, e arrivaste a Gerico; gli abitanti di Gerico, gli Amorei, i Ferezei, i Cananei, gli Hittei, i Ghirgasei, gli Hivvei e i Gebusei combatteron contro di voi, e io li diedi nelle vostre mani.

12 E mandai davanti a voi i calabroni, che li scacciarono d’innanzi a voi, com’era avvenuto dei due re Amorei: non fu per la tua spada ne per il tuo arco.

13 E vi diedi una terra che voi non avevate lavorata, delle città che non avevate costruite; voi abitate in esse e mangiate del frutto delle vigne e degli uliveti che non avete piantati.

14 Or dunque temete l’Eterno, e servitelo con integrità e fedeltà; togliete via gli dèi ai quali i vostri padri servirono di là dal fiume, e in Egitto, e servite all’Eterno.

15 E se vi par mal fatto servire all’Eterno, scegliete oggi a chi volete servire: o agli dèi ai quali i vostri padri servirono di là dal fiume, o agli dèi degli Amorei, nel paese de’ quali abitate; quanto a me e alla casa mia, serviremo all’Eterno".
