2 Corinthians 7:16

16 I rejoice, because I have perfect confidence in you.

2 Corinthians 7:16 Meaning and Commentary

2 Corinthians 7:16

I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all
things.
] That I can speak freely and boldly to you, reprove, admonish, and advise you, since you take it all in good part, as I design it; that I can confidently speak in your favour, boast of your love and obedience, which is found upon trial and by experience to be truth; and that I can promise myself every good thing from you, that is proper to ask of you, and lies in your power to perform; which he says partly to commend them for their past conduct, and partly to pave the way for what he had to say to them, concerning making a collection for the poor saints.

2 Corinthians 7:16 In-Context

14 For if I have expressed to him some pride in you, I was not put to shame; but just as everything we said to you was true, so our boasting before Titus has proved true.
15 And his heart goes out all the more to you, as he remembers the obedience of you all, and the fear and trembling with which you received him.
16 I rejoice, because I have perfect confidence in you.
