Psalms 56:11 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 56:11

In God have I put my trust (See Gill on Psalms 56:4);

I will not be afraid what man can do unto me;
the same with flesh in ( Psalms 56:4 ) , and is opposed to God, in whom he trusted; and it suggests that he was not, and would not, be afraid of the greatest of men, as well as of the meanest; (See Gill on Psalms 56:4); Arama distinguishes between "flesh" and "man"; the former, he says, means the Philistines, and the latter Saul and his army.

Psalms 56:11 In-Context

9 Then my enemies will be turned back in the day when I call. This I know, that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise, in the LORD, whose word I praise,
11 in God I trust without a fear. What can man do to me?
12 My vows to thee I must perform, O God; I will render thank offerings to thee.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, yea, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
