Mark 12:5

5 καὶ ἄλλον ἀπέστειλεν · κἀκεῖνον ἀπέκτειναν, καὶ πολλοὺς ἄλλους, οὓς μὲν δέροντες οὓς δὲ ἀποκτέννοντες.

Mark 12:5

And again he sent another
That is, another servant, or set of men, it may be in the times of the Maccabees, who were used in a very inhuman manner; see ( Hebrews 11:37 Hebrews 11:38 ) ;

and him they killed;
either with the sword, or by inflicting some capital punishment, as stoning, strangling

and many others;
that is, either the owner of the vineyard sent many other servants, or the husbandmen ill used many others that were sent to them:

beating some;
with their hands, or with scourges;

and killing some;
in one or other of the above ways.

3 καὶ λαβόντες αὐτὸν ἔδειραν καὶ ἀπέστειλαν κενόν.
4 καὶ πάλιν ἀπέστειλεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἄλλον δοῦλον · κἀκεῖνον ἐκεφαλίωσαν καὶ ἠτίμασαν.
5 καὶ ἄλλον ἀπέστειλεν · κἀκεῖνον ἀπέκτειναν, καὶ πολλοὺς ἄλλους, οὓς μὲν δέροντες οὓς δὲ ἀποκτέννοντες.
6 ἔτι ἕνα εἶχεν, υἱὸν ἀγαπητόν · ἀπέστειλεν ⸃ αὐτὸν ἔσχατον πρὸς αὐτοὺς ⸃ λέγων ὅτι Ἐντραπήσονται τὸν υἱόν μου.
7 ἐκεῖνοι δὲ οἱ γεωργοὶ πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς εἶπαν ⸃ ὅτι Οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κληρονόμος · δεῦτε ἀποκτείνωμεν αὐτόν, καὶ ἡμῶν ἔσται ἡ κληρονομία.
