1 Samuel 27:7

And the time that David dwelt in the country of the
Philistines
At Gath and Ziklag:

was a full year and four months;
or "days and four months"; days being sometimes put for a year, ( Judges 17:10 ) ; though some interpret it not of a year, but of some few days out of the fifth month, besides the four months; so Jarchi and Kimchi; and Josephus ^F8 makes his abode to be four months and twenty days; but, according to the Septuagint and Vulgate Latin versions, it was only four months; and so it may be rendered, "days, that is, four months"; for according to the Jewish chronology ^F9 Samuel died four months before Saul, and this flight of David was after the death of Samuel, and when Saul died he left the land of the Philistines, and took the throne of Judah; (See Gill on 1 Samuel 25:1).

5 Y David dijo a Aquis: Si he hallado ahora gracia en tus ojos, séame dado lugar en algunas de las ciudades de la tierra, donde habite; porque ¿ha de morar tu siervo contigo en la ciudad real?

6 Y Aquis le dio aquel día a Siclag. De aquí fue Siclag de los reyes de Judá hasta hoy.

7 Y fue el número de los días que David habitó en la tierra de los filisteos, cuatro meses y algunos días.

8 Y subía David con los suyos, y hacían entradas en los gesureos, y en los gerzeos, y en los amalecitas; porque estos habitaban de largo tiempo la tierra, desde como se va a Shur hasta la tierra de Egipto.

9 Y hería David la tierra, y no dejaba a vida hombre ni mujer; y se llevaba las ovejas y las vacas y los asnos y los camellos y las ropas; y volvía, y se venía a Aquis.
