Judges 11:30

And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the Lord
Before he set out for the land of the children of Ammon, and to fight with them; hoping that such a religious disposition of mind would be regarded by the Lord, and be acceptable to him, and he should be blessed with success in his enterprise:

and said, if thou shall without fail deliver the children of Ammon into
mine hands;
though he was assured of the justness of his cause, and of his call to engage in it, he seems to have some little diffidence in his mind about the success of it; at least, was not fully certain of it.

28 Mas el rey de los hijos de Amón no oyó las razones de Jefté que le envió.

29 Y el Espíritu del SEÑOR fue sobre Jefté; y pasó por Galaad y Manasés, y de allí pasó a Mizpa de Galaad, y de Mizpa de Galaad pasó a los hijos de Amón.

30 Y Jefté hizo voto al SEÑOR, diciendo: Si entregares a los amonitas en mis manos,

31 cualquiera que me saliere a recibir de las puertas de mi casa, cuando volviere de los amonitas en paz, será del SEÑOR, y le ofreceré en holocausto.

32 Pasó pues Jefté a los hijos de Amón para pelear contra ellos; y el SEÑOR los entregó en su mano.
