John 9:10

10 Therefore they said unto him, "How were thine eyes opened?"

John 9:10 Meaning and Commentary

John 9:10

Therefore said they unto him
When the case was clear, and it was out of question that he was the man:

how were thine eyes opened?
or made to see: they might well ask this question, since such a thing was never known before, that one born blind received his sight; and as great a miracle it is in grace, and as great a mystery to a natural man, how one should be born again, or be spiritually enlightened.

John 9:10 In-Context

8 The neighbors therefore, and those who before had seen that he was blind, said, "Is not this he that sat and begged?"
9 Some said, "This is he." Others said, "He is like him." But he said, "I am he!"
10 Therefore they said unto him, "How were thine eyes opened?"
11 He answered and said, "A man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, `Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.' And I went and washed, and I received sight."
12 Then they said unto him, "Where is he?" He said, "I know not."
