Leviticus 25:19

19 The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

Leviticus 25:19 Meaning and Commentary

Leviticus 25:19

And the land shall yield her fruit
That is, continually, and even in the seventh year, the sabbath of rest; for the land, though not manured, ploughed, and sowed, nor the vines, olives, and fig trees pruned, yet shall yield fruit as in other years, the Israelites observing the statutes and judgments of God: and ye shall eat your fill;
feel no want of provisions, but have fulness of everything as at other times, and never make a scanty meal, having sufficiency and plenty of all things: and dwell therein in safety;
not fearing enemies, nor being disturbed by them, nor carried captive.

Leviticus 25:19 In-Context

17 You shall not wrong one another; but you shall fear your God: for I am Yahweh your God.
18 Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my ordinances and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.
19 The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.
20 If you shall say, What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;
21 then I will command my blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.
