2 Kings 10:31

31 Forsooth Jehu kept not, that he went in the law of the Lord God of Israel in all his heart; for he went not away from the sins of Jeroboam, that made Israel to do sin. (But Jehu did not follow the Law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart; for he went not away from the sins of Jeroboam, who made Israel to do sin.)

2 Kings 10:31 Meaning and Commentary

2 Kings 10:31

But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of
Israel with all his heart
As to his moral conversation, he was not careful that it was according to the law of God, and what he did agreeable to it, it was not sincerely, and from the right principle:

for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to
sin;
which he would, if he had had a cordial respect to all the commandments of the law.

2 Kings 10:31 In-Context

29 nevertheless he went not away from the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, that made Israel to do sin, neither he forsook the golden calves, that were in Bethel and in Dan.
30 Forsooth the Lord said to Jehu, For thou didest busily that that was rightful (For thou didest what was right), and that pleased in mine eyes, and hast done against the house of Ahab all things that were in mine heart, thy sons till to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
32 In those days the Lord began to be annoyed upon Israel (In those days the Lord began to do harm to Israel); and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel,
33 from Jordan against the east coast, all the land of Gilead, and of Gad, and of Reuben, and of Manasseh, from Aroer, which is on the strand of Arnon (which is by the Arnon Stream), and (even unto) Gilead, and Bashan.
